After his teammate was already put up for NFL rookie of the week, Kansas City Chiefs RB Thomas Jones is a candidate for the FedEx ground player of the week. The award obviously is given to the top rushing performance of the weekend.
Jones went for 125 yards and a touchdown, including one 70-yard run, against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7.
Like Eric Berry and the NFL rookie of the week vote, I don't think one will come to KC. He's up against Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner who rushed for 121 yards and two scores as well as Oakland Raiders RB Darren McFadden who rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns (at 10 yards per carry).
Will Jones get it? I doubt it. But if there were a team rushing awards the Chiefs 236 yards may have a shot at that.
Because we're incredibly biased, participate in our poll and VOTE at NFL.com.
