Don't Worry About Today; Worry About Next Week
I'm not crushed that the Chiefs lost today. Most people thought it would be a blowout but we hung in there up until the last few minutes . Peyton Manning wasn't Superman today, which made me happy. I loved it when the camera zoomed in on #18 sitting on the sidelines. He looked like a kid in timeout. I would have loved to see us win, but we still played hard and made some good plays. So I'm not worried about what happened today.
Instead I'm worried about us going into Houston. The Giants came into Reliant Stadium and CRUSHED the Texans. Eli Manning and Hakeem Nicks just made that Texans secondary look silly. Houston couldn't get the running game going. Bottom line: they got destroyed. This team is supposed to be a playoff contender. Today they looked like a junior varsity squad.
So why should this worry us Chiefs fans? Because the Texans will be playing angry football next week. They just got embarrassed at home and they will be looking to take out their frustration. And I believe they will take it out on us. We've seen this happen before: a good team loses one week, so they go out and crush the next opponent for retribution. I can see that happening in Houston next week.
What do you guys think?

kinda like the colts are supposed to be super tough after a loss?
not saying they weren’t tough, but nothing like anyone expected. The colts in some minds were suppose to blow us out after a loss, that didn’t happen

2011 Chiefs Record Prediction: 8-8
Getting ready to board the Cassel Hater Wagon. His performance was horrible against Indy. We aren't going to beat good teams with him playing like that.

CHIEFS WILL
BELIEVE, BELIEVE, BELIEVE!
the Colts are a better team
and they were coming off a loss also. The texans have sogiven up some serious points this season. I think we will beat the Texans next week if our offense can take off the training wheels.
I see the Chiefs as having a lot of work to do to get ready for next week
and yes, the Texans are going to be VERY tough to beat, period … not worried about the Chiefs as much as how many APers are going to have a lousy week … excuses will abound, when the reality is it was just a loss … so it goes, life goes on … well said, Sir!

Well, I knew this would be a painful 2 weeks.
Now everyone gonna say how we are so fake and are the worst team in the league..
Maybe we can win next week…
When you fail to prepare, you prepare to fail.

Anyone that says that is full of shit.
The Chiefs went into Indy’s house and didn’t allow Manning to throw a TD pass… and got picked off by Jon McGraw. The 2010 Chiefs are very reminiscent of the 2000 Ravens. This defense is going to get props this week.

Texans don't scare me
Starting LT is still out, Schaub is no Peyton, and Crennel will certainly dial up more blitzes. Schaub makes mistakes in a tight pocket under duress.

I think angry football resulting in a brutal ass whooping is a myth...

The Niners were supposed to just stomp us into the ground. Didn’t happen. The Colts were supposed to march up and down the field and put up 40 points on us. Didn’t happen. I’ve never believed that teams that get beat badly are able to take out their frustration on their next opponent. In the occasions that a team does follow up a bad loss with a good win is just coincidence. Teams that get beat bad lose again the next week just as often as they win the next week.
The Texans aren’t taking any of their frustrations out on this defense. The Chiefs D is incredibly stout, and they’re not going to be beaten easily. If Manning got beat like he did today, then Matt Shaub doesn’t scare me. Flowers and Carr make me proud to be a Chiefs fan, and that front 7 is no longer the slouch it used to be. The Chiefs showed us a lot of who they are today. They’re just as good of a football team as the Texans, Chargers, Colts, Steelers, etc. They’re knocking on the door of being a top tier team.

I gotta say I was impressed by Carr's play yesterday. That and Berry was true to his word and didn't bite on the pumpfake.

Texans?
We lost too? Whose to say we can’t come out there next week pissed off after losing a game we really could have won. Yes, this game will be a true test for us next week, but we are a good TEAM and have all the pieces to win this won. Please don’t begin saying this will be another loss, not gonna happen. We come out of this tough road trip 1-1 proving we are legit and you watch, the Chiefs will be contender the rest of the season.
