Now this is an award Kansas City Chiefs RB Jamaal Charles can win - FedEx Ground Player of the Week.

His numbers were a franchise record for the Chiefs - 25 carries, 259 yards and two touchdowns. Can he beat the competition?

Fred Jackson - 33 carries, 212 yards, two touchdowns

Willis McGahee - 16 carries, 167 yards, three touchdowns

I must say though, I was very delighted in Mcgahee thugging that one Raider defender on his long TD run. Just plain owned.

You have to think Charles will win it this time around.

KC is a hero to NY right now, if I’m not mistaken Denver had to lose for the Jets to be in it, correct?

My long, drawn-out predictions that no one cares about, nor will bother to remember:

1. Todd Haley will still be the Chiefs Head Coach up to the 2011 season.
2. Clancy Pendergast won't make it to the 2010 season and was never intended to. Last-minute hire for a position that needed to be filled.
3. Todd Haley will not be the OC at the start of the 2010 season.

Negative

Jets were win and in. Denver needed to win AND get a Jets or Ravens loss in order to get into the playoffs…

Things to get the Chiefs back on the winning side of football:

1. Haley resign as offensive coordinator or do the following;
a. Feed JC more
b. Take the cuffs off of Cassel and let him air it out
2. Fire Clancy "Calls" Playslikeass

Well

Jackson: YPC-6.42, 2 TD
McGahee: YPC-10.44, 3 TD
Charles: YPC-10.36, 2 TD

Jackson has a worse YPC, the same number of touchdowns, and fewer yards than Charles, so he’s out.
McGahee has a better YPC (barely), more touchdowns and fewer yards than Charles.

There’s a good argument for McGahee, but the ~~strength~~ tenacity of opponent factors in: the Raiders had nothing to play for and the Broncos had everything to play for.
So this should easily go to Charles.

I loved his press conference… he came across as a humble, down to earth kid who gets nervous talking to crowds. in other words the antithesis of LJ. Gotta love it.

he ran with alot of heart yesterday. I wish they gave him the ball that last possession. wouldnt hurt to try and take a stab at single game rushing record. just another 30 yards or so.
