Chiefs and Broncos Battling as the Fourth Quarter Begins

This is turning out to be a great game. The third quarter was filled with scoring - 31 points combined by both teams.

The fourth quarter should be exciting as well. Here are some notes on the third quarter:

Positives

  • The Chiefs started the second half with a magnificent drive that went 10 plays, 79 yards in 4:25 minutes. The best part? The Chiefs finished their drive strong - with a Jamaal Charles' 5-yard TD run.
  • FB Mike Cox had a powerful catch and run for a first down on the Chiefs' second drive of the second half.
  • Cassel to Chambers! 43-yards!
  • LB Derrick Johnson made the play of a his career. It was a pick six that he ran back for 45-yards.

Negatives

  • Jamaal Charles was slammed to the ground by Broncos DE Robert Ayers and laid on the ground for an extra few seconds. Ayers was called for unnecessary roughness and Charles came back a play later.
  • CB Brandon Carr is having one of his worst games as a Chief. Carr is being consistently beaten by Denver WRs.
  • Broncos WR Jabar Gaffney continues to tear up the Chiefs Miles Austin style.
  • Matt Cassel made a bad decision to split two Broncos defenders on a pass to Bobby Wade. It was picked and nearly returned for a TD by CB Ty Law. Kyle Orton hit WR Brandon Stokely for a TD pass a few plays later.

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOO CHIEFS!!!
