3. If Todd Haley were fired today and Pioli asked you who he should hire to replace him....who would you say?

My answers

1. Joe Montana Mr Joe Cool. He is the reason I am a Chief fan today. They guy is amazing.

2. I know most of you will think I am crazy…..but I would choose Tim Tebow. Leadership, Passion, Strength, Has the physical tools and and awareness to carry us. Mechanics didnt stop him at any level….and they wont in the NFL.

3. I would tell him Brian Billick…..he has a ring. He knows what it takes. He hires amazing assistants and he has plenty of Head Coaching experience.

4. I would definately say Romeo Crennel. Our defense was terrible and he is a 3-4 guy who can turn things around in a hurry. He also has lots of experience coaching the dline….an area we need lots of help. Todd Haley could always run the offense if need be, but could never run the defense.

5. I would choose…Brian Waters….the main reason is his tenure with the Chiefs could bring up some amazing stories. He has been around the block a time or two and seems like he could fill a whole day out with things I never knew. I would also love to ask him about the whole Todd Haley deal first hand.

Mine

1. Derrick Thomas
2. Sam Bradford (I don’t really watch college but the guy is interesting. He might have been the #1 pick ast year. Some team might get a bargain if he is healthy)
3. Leslie Frazier
4. Romeo Crennel
5. Tamba Hali- This guys has lived an interesting life

by saskwatch on Jan 27, 2010 12:05 PM CST reply actions

Would you actually hire Frazier....

…..or would you interview him and hire a white coach like the rest of the NFL?

The question is not how far. The question is, do you possess the constitution, the depth of faith, to go as far is as needed?

by BigRedChief on Jan 27, 2010 2:21 PM CST up reply actions

I'll go with...

1. DT. There are a lot of good ones but he could just dominate a game.
2. I REALLY don’t like this year’s QB class, but if you put a gun to my head and said I had to take somebody, I would go with Colt McCoy.
3. Bill Parcells. Coax the old man out of the GM role for one last go at it with his son in law and former coaches (Weis and Crennel) all in the mix.
4. Toss up, but I guess I’ll say Weis because of the help he can give Cassel.
5. Mike Vrabel – just seems like a good, hardworking guy

1. Staying away from the obvious choices of DT and Joe……..I pick Trent Green

2. Put 20 pounds on McCoy and he’s my guy

3. Marty Schottenheimer

4. Romeo ‘alot of whoopla’ Crennell

5. Vince Wilfork….sorry that was wishful thinking…….how bout Mike Vrabel

Matt Cassell will be a top 5 QB in 2010
Jamall Charles will be a top 2 RB in 2010
Chiefs defence will be a top 15 in 2010
I will be a Chiefs fan until the day I die

I like Marty Schottenheimer choice.

Trent Green…..hmm. Dont know about that….but he was the man who led the offensive machine we had.

My Answers

1. DT – But I loved the old guys like Lanier, Buchanan, Dawson, Podalak, and Otis Taylor.
2. Bradford – I think he has all of the tools if he proves healthy.
3. Tony Dungy – He just does it right, but I was thinking of Cowher also.
4. Weis – I like both, but I think Weis will take stress off of Haley and get the most out of Cassell.
5. Dorsey – I think he would be a crack up, and just fun to hang with.

by Helmets on Jan 27, 2010 12:13 PM CST reply actions

Tony Dungy is an excellent choice.

5. AHHH so many, Dwayne Bowe. He seems like a cool ass dude

And......

1. Derrick Thomas – he was the definition of KC for me growing up
2. Jimmy Clausen – even though I think he is full of himself, I do like the skills he’s shown as a passer this year.
3. Bill Cowher – he would definitely bring some attitude and extensive knowledge of what it takes to win along with him.
4. Crennel – our offense was actually taking shape last year, and with a couple of additions would’ve been okay with Haley controlling it.
5. Jamaal Charles – reminds me of one my cousins……cool and gaining confidence every week…

good call on Clausen....especially with Weis already here.

but then I saw yours and it’s exactly what I was going to say… with the exception of Clausen, I think Bradford is an amazing quarterback, if he can stay healthy.

Yeah QB

is a tough one to call this year. Wouldn’t surprise me to see a mid round QB outshine the 1st rounders.

And with my pick

1) Will Shields and/or Willie Roaf – Dominant line made for some great offense.
2) Tim Tebow – Only if he can be had with our number 2 second rounder or third round.
3) Bill Cowher – Defense wins championships
4) Romeo – Once again defense wins championships
5) Glenn Dorsey – I just think he is going to be the cornerstone of our defense for a long time, and picking his brain could be fun.

Results

1. Tony Gonzalez, HOF. Revolutionized the TE position.

2. Jimmy Clausen, has all the tools and could continue to develop under Weis

3. Leslie Frazier, One of the greatest up and and coming defensive minds.

4. Romeo Crennel, 30th in defense is unacceptable. He’ll make the 3-4 viable for us.

5. Maurice Leggett, that guy is always getting into mischief

by Aesthetist on Jan 27, 2010 1:45 PM CST reply actions

Answers

1. I think DT, with TG running a close second.
2. Sam Bradford, for his intelligence, but I’d like to transplant a Tebow heart in him.
3. Always been a Cowher fan — I don’t think anyone has a better glare!
4. I chose Weis over Crennel, strictly because our HC is Haley. I think OC was a tougher position to fill, since Haley is an offensive guy — they had to see eye-to-eye or it just wasn’t going to work. I think we had more choices with DC, but am glad Romeo’s here.
5. After last year’s dance routine, I’d say Bernie Pollard, but wait — he’s not a Chief, huh? Andy Studebaker seems like a fun & humble. It could be fun to hang with him…

Answers:
1, Who, in your opinion, is the best player to ever put on a Chiefs uniform?

Derrick Thomas. One of the best pass rushers of all time, he elevated the defense and had to be accounted for on every play.

2. If you had to choose one QB in the draft to take Matt Cassel’s starting spot, who would it be?

Bradford I guess. But I don’t really want a rookie QB right now.

3. If Todd Haley were fired today and Pioli asked you who he should hire to replace him….who would you say?

Bill Cowher

4. Between Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis, who is more valuable to our team?

Todd Haley. I heard he got “between” them in their reunion hug and has been stuck there since.

5. If you could choose one current Chiefs player to hang out with and interview for a day, who would it be?

Hmmmmm…. Bowe I guess. I need to drop some weight and would like for him to give me some pointers.

My sentiments are likely to be summed up with one of these 2 quotes:

"WHAT THE F---?!?!"- Todd Haley

I'll argue that point about best Chief

IMO – Willie Lanier made the Middle Linebacker position what it is today. Not one MLB before him could cover in the secondary like he did and Dick Butkus never had to have a special helmet made for him because of the way he hit people. Willie Lanier was the first MLB to jump over the line on a goal line stand and meet the running back in mid air to keep him from scoring. I have had the pleasure and blessing of seeing almost every MLB play since the position was created and I know for a fact Willie Lanier was the greatest MLB to ever play the game, hence the greatest Chief to ever don the uniform. First ballot HOF player and as we all know, was just elected to the Black College Football HOF.

Ray Lewis, Mike Singletary, Jack Lambert and every other linebacker since 1967 had an icon to learn from thanks to Willie Lanier. And like it or not, there is that .00001 chance Tony won’t make the HOF on first ballot. Stranger things have happened and no I wont make that bet. :)

Winning begins with Attitude - Haley and Pioli will be winners in KC!

I'll forever be a Chiefs fan! Only God himself could take that away from me, but when I get to my great reward, I'll rejoin two bigger fans, my Mom and Dad.

Drum Roll, Please......The results are in!

1. The best player to ever put on a chiefs uniform has to be the great, Hall of Famer Derrick Thomas, with Tony Gonzalez close behind

2. I would like to pick Sam Bradford but his durability took a hit last year and I don’t want even a slight chance for another Croyle. Other than that probably Jimmy Clausen, also helps that we have his former head coach in Weis.

3. If we are sticking within the current organization, Romeo Crennel, if going outside, Bill Cowher. I like Defensive Minded Head Coaches over Offensive.

4. Man this is a tough one. Going with Romeo because he’s a defensive mind and I will always take defense over offense.

5. Hmm, I can narrow it down to Vrabel, Cassel, Charles or Bowe. I’d go with Charles, mainly because we haven’t heard much of him and I think he’d be and is a very respectable guy with class. Besides, the chance to get to meet one of the best (hopefully, but who here is gonna disagree with me?) RB’s in the NFL and maybe just maybe hopefully by the end of his career, one of the best, or just better than LT, because I don’t like him.

Lets do this thing:

Best Chief to Put on the Uniform?
Tony Gonzalez without a doubt in my mind.

Rookie QB?
Tim Tebow. Not because he’s the best, but because I’d love to own that jersey.

If not Haley then Who?
Gruden. Over and over again he has said that he would draft Tebow if he was still a coach.

Who is more important?
With the way our defense looked last year, and with Charles doing a ton of work on his own, its no wonder everyone says Romeo.

Who would you hang with?
Hali. Met him once for a few minutes after the Redskins game (see profile pic) and he seems really chill. Close second would be Cassel.

I think Romeo will eat less, so I’ll go with that

hmmm

1) Willie Lanier best Chiefs player ever. (I didn’t count Montana because he’s really a 49er despite what we say)
2) Is Peyton Manning in the draft?
3) Belichek or Parcells
4) Romeo probably. Since we have Charles, anyone should be able to work with that. Cassel needs a LOT of help so that was a tough one.
5) Ron Edwards. Because I’d like to ask him why he’s still here.

1. What, no Bobby Bell love? Stram said he could of played any of the 22 positions. He was that good an athlete.
2.Claussen, The addition of weis and his physical skills make this the pick for me.
3.Paul Brown or if you want a coach that is alive? Bill Parcells.
4. Romeo by a belt loop. They are both great and will improve our team.
5. Glen Dorsey, I think he is going to be a great one.

The RIGHT answers

1 – Jim Tyrer. His sordid end is the only reason that he’s not in the HOF. Tony G, Buck Buchanon, Willie L, and DT are my Honorable Mentions (in order).
2 – I would say Colt McCoy, but I really have no idea, I’m not a College football fan. Ask me after the combine and Pro Day workouts.
3 – I guess I’d go with Leslie Frazier. I haven’t really though about it or dug into other possibilities since it’s so unlikely.
4 – Probably Crennel. I think the O is on its way, the D has further to go.
5 – Waters – he’s always been a good interview (especially since I think he’s going to get the Walter Payton award), a good guy, and has seen a lot in his time with KC. Plus we’re about the same size. Cassel and Croyle would be tied for second – two QBs who’ve already had interesting things happen in their football careers.
