Chiefs G Brian Waters a Finalist for Walter Payton Man of the Year
We told you a few weeks ago that Kansas City Chiefs G Brian Waters was nominated for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award.
Moments ago on CBS, James Brown passed along the news that Waters is a finalist for the award.
"Four time Pro Bowl guard Brian Waters of the Chiefs has positively impacted the lives of thousands of children in Texas and the greater Kansas City area through his foundation's comprehensive back-to-school programs and college scholarships," Brown said.
Outstanding news and a HUGE congratulations to Brian Waters.
The other two finalists are LB London Fletcher of the Washington Redskins and WR Mike Furrey of the Cleveland Browns.
The winner will be announced prior to kickoff at the Super Bowl.

This is excellent news.
Brian Waters is the type of player that Kansas City has always stood for. This man continues to make a difference for our team and our city. Thank you Mr. Waters for improving the lives of less fortunate people in the communities which have done so much for you. Your actions serve as a model for the rest of the league and for us fans.
