Chiefs Assistant Gary Gibbs to Interview With the Dolphins?
We've got an interesting tip here. According to FootballCoachScoop.com, Chiefs linebackers coach Gary Gibbs is expected to interview for the vacant defensive coordinator position with the Miami Dolphins.
Paul Pasqualoni was relieved of his duties with the Dolphins last week and subsequently nabbed by the Dallas Cowboys.
The website also reports former New England Patriots defensive coordinator Dean Pees and New York Jets linebackers coach Bob Sutton will interview for the position.
Gibbs has a connection to Bill Parcells having worked under him with the Dallas Cowboys. He also followed another Parcells guy, Sean Payton, to the New Orleans Saints.
This is far from confirmed but I wanted to get this report out there.
FootballCoachScoop.com has proven to be reliable in the past but they're not one of the usual suspects when it comes to reporting news on the Chiefs so take it for what it's worth.

Well
Looks like we might be in the hunt for a linebackers coach soon, then. Although good on Gibbs if he gets it. He did a good job here as a position coach, but he’s been a bust as a DC, so if he wants and can get a promotion to a DC position, best of luck to him but I’d rather he did it for someone else.

Agreed UC
I don’t think he will get the job anyway, although I could be wrong. If I had my way, I would rather he stay here and finish the job.
I think he has done a pretty nice job with the LBs here though. Especially considering the lack of marquee players we have in that position group.
I think Gibbs did a great job with what he had to work with.
Might create even more openings to keep Clancy around though as he has more background as a LB coach then he does as a DB coach. Personally Id rather see Gibbs at LB then Clancy but I guess we’ll see.

Ken Norton Jr
someone did a post on all the talent he’s cranked out at USC, might make a good replacement.
I thought Al Groh was a lock for Miami
I haven’t really been following the situation though.
If he goes............
then hire Mike Nolan! Case closed!
Matt Cassell will be a top 5 QB in 2010
Jamall Charles will be a top 2 RB in 2010
Chiefs defence will be a top 15 in 2010
I will be a Chiefs fan until the day I die
