Former Chief Kris Wilson "Making Plays"

Back in March, Chris posed this question:

Who was the Chiefs all-time worst second round pick?

TE Kris Wilson only received 5% of the votes.

(Thank DT Junior Siavii for that).

Now that same Kris Wilson just caught a 13 yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers in a major divisional playoff tilt as the Chargers lead the Jets 7-0 (as of this posting).

Wilson's best season came in 2006 with a career high 24 catches for 180 yards.

The irony. The announcer on the CBS telecast went off to commercial break saying, "And that's Kris Wilson! Making plays!"

LMAO...

At least there is realism..I dont get how the Royals can suck so much but the Twins are in the Playoffs every other year. They are working with the same budgets….

by bonesjackson on Jan 17, 2010 4:55 PM CST up reply actions

The Minnesota front office isn't completely inept... Plus they have Mauer and Morneau...

not to mention they have had a lot of pitching that they have been able to flip for more talent. Basically Minnesota drafted poorly during the mid 90’s to early 00’s, Minnesota has drafted great during that time.

Well yeah, but KC got nothing in return for those guys.

And they are getting fewer, pretty much just Damon, Dye, and Beltran left (who all played in the KC outfield at the same time at one point).

Its not impossible for a small market team to compete, but the Royals didn’t do what they needed to do for 10 years, it looks like they may be doing things the right way, but it probably wont be till 2011 or 2012 till it actually shows on the field.

Kris actually proves

Al Saunders was over billed. Anyone see that joke of an offense he ran in STL this year? Made the Chiefs look like the Saints.

by bonesjackson on Jan 17, 2010 4:53 PM CST reply actions

Hard for me to say Al was over billed

I don’t think any OC was going to make them look good. But Jackson did have a pretty good season.

He was getting all the preseason hype, then got hurt and seemed to go straight into the doghouse. That’s one thing that we didn’t get this past year, and that I don’t miss, is the preseason hype machine. CP seemed to talk up some new guy every year that never did anything. Nice to see Kris doing well today, but I don’t think he’s going to make anyone forget Gates anymore than he did Tony G.

Heck, they ran a lot of double TE sets. But I guess the coaches liked Dunn better than Wilson. Like I said, I don’t think they really gave him much chance.
