He doesn't think there will be an invitation to return to Foxboro, but there could be interest in Kansas City where Romeo Crennel, his ex-coach in Cleveland and his former defensive coordinator with the Pats, now is in charge of the defense.

interesting

but, what role would he play?

Platoon w Vrabel?
(move Studebaker over behind Hali, Pierre to the PS)

I’m not sure they really have a place for him… but, it wouldn’t hurt to have him around at all.

I'd bring him on as an assistant

Not as a player… maybe quality control or something.

Agree, Hopefully Pioli learned last year to stay FAR away from a player like this, after the Goff, Mike Brown, Zach Thomas, Bobby Engram, even Mike Vrabel(I know he wasn’t a FA) performances. Assistant Coach, advisor- Yes. Player- HELL NO!!!!

Doubt it will happen...

But the praise for RAC is great in that article…his players love him.

I would sign him

just because he get our guys discipline (spelled wrong i think) like D.J and put them in a mind set of winning

I LOVE MY CHIEFS

Old dogs...

I think older, disciplined players are vital to both sides of the ball, but I worry about signing too many of them. I feel like that’s always the goal (Toomer, ZThomas, etc., even though they didn’t stay…) and we’ll end up with a roster full of 1-2 year guys.

Vrabel is plenty for a defensive leader and examlpe as is Waters for offense. Let’s just sign some players that can learn to play some damn good football without their hands being held all the time… I guess it’s just not that easy, though.

he is 38

i would sign as FA …
it is too bad that zthomas did not make it…
dj and other LBs needed him…
the more the merrier for me…

Anyone listening to NFL sunday countdown?

“Cardinals will be AGRESSIVLY trying to move Anquan Boldin, even if its for a 3rd or a 5th”

I was against trading for Q, (I prefer Breaston) but if we could get him for a midround pick, I’d say do it!

+1

Money should be a non-issue as well. DBowe + Chambers (maybe) + Boldin + Weis = fun to watch.

by ChiefsNfl on Jan 17, 2010 10:28 AM CST up reply actions

Yes!

He has plenty of years left and is proven talent. We would be crazy not to make some
sort of move for him to start upgrading our mediocre receiving core. I don’t think he’s worth big contract money for what we NEED, but would improve our offense instantly.

by CO_ChiefJordan on Jan 17, 2010 10:31 AM CST via mobile up reply actions

IF that's true...

of course, you’d consider a 3rd or 5th for him

I think KC has three or four 5th rd picks

I’d trade one or two for a shot at him. His injury history bothers me big time but might be worth a shot.

Boldin for a 3rd-5th?

Frack yea! Sure he is injury prone and is on the down side of his career, but once you get into the 4th or later rounds it starts becoming a crap shoot as to what you are drafting.

Eh, seems like he wouldn't fit

He more fits the mold of possession receiver, which we already have. He’s not a speedy, throw-it-doiwnfield-and-ill-run-under-it kinda guy. He’s more of a physical, over-the-middle, catch in space and get the YAC, like what we try to do with D-Bowe.

Plus he seems oft-injured. Those injuries will get worse and worse as he gets up in age.

I was worried about the injuries too

However, look closer at them.
Yes he missed a couple games this year which is a concern but people label him as “injury prone” was because he missed 4 games last year. The reason was as that Jet propelled himself at him, well, like a Jet. I don’t think someone could be labelded injury prone when they are out with a broken face and came back in a month with a steel plate in his face.

true... BUT

KC also needs a super reliable receiver who catches everything thrown his way and can be counted on.

Boldin would be a nice upgrade over Bobby Wade in that regard :)

Boldin has GREAT hands

He’d make Cassel look better, not only will he make the easy catches, he’ll make 5 or 6 impossible catches.
Plus take pressure off of Bowe which might be the most important reason to get a guy like him

Exactly who I was thinking!

Bobby Wade is almost average at best and has been a decent temporary fill, though I do think he will be the first receiver out with the addition of an upgrade

we already have a possession receiver?

dont we need to catch the ball to have one of those? lol
