Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers Opts for Surgery
Yesterday, we pointed out an entry from the Twitter page of Kansas City Chiefs CB Brandon Flowers indicating he was headed to Alabama to see if he needed surgery.
I speculated that the surgery was for a shoulder injury he had been dealing with all season and the surgeon could be famed sports surgeon Dr. James Andrews. That's all still speculation.
As it turns out, Flowers does need surgery. And, according to his Twitter page, he's in surgery as of this posting.
got on my lil gernie thing or however u spell it....makn that walk to the surgery room...let u know how it went in a few hours
Best of luck to Mr. Flowers on the surgery. We'll update you when he updates us.
Who knew you could get so much information from Twitter?

The really interesting tweets will come when he wakes up.
My sentiments are likely to be summed up with one of these 2 quotes:

Lets hope that Brandon Flower's tweeting arm is strong after surgery...
and that he has a speedy recovery.
Does anyone know the problem?
Torn Rotator Cuff, Dislocation, ??

From what I have heard torn rotator cuff...
how bad it is I’m not sure…
Man!
I had a strained one and I couldnt even hardly move my arm….
But I know that the surgery can fix him up like new! That is good news….as torn rotator cuffs are quite common.

Give him a break.
Hopefully he was already medicated by that point.
Hey, he asked.

Technically it wasn't a question...
but I get your meaning.
We need Flowers to be 100% this year.
The young guys benefit greatly & heal alot quicker with these type of surgeries. Flowers will be a force to reckon with this year. Count on it.
Mr. Charles situation is a little different.
His shoulder keeps on dislocating… I haven’t heard whether the issues is skeletal, or muscular. If it is muscular it should be much easier to fix. If Charles is missing bone material that is supposed to be there that isn’t… that could get tricky.
As of right now he has no problem with the trainers poping it back into place… its just not what you want to see from an up and coming running back. Hopefully it can be fixed, and he can recover coming into next season.
Hmmm...
Surprised I have seen this mentioned before. Could JC’s fumbling issue be related to his shoulder dislocating? I’ve been fortunate and never dislocated my shoulder (by a narrow margin), but I can’t imagine having too much hand strength when it happens. I can think of at least twice hearing about his shoulder being out of socket after a fumble (one of those went out of bounds and thus wasn’t on his stats).
Any thoughts?
I'm pretty sure he dislocated it during the Donkeys game when it fumbled out of bounds.
I’m not sure if it was the case at the beginning of the season, as he wasn’t getting as many touches as 2.7 was getting. I was just disappointed by the fumbles.
If this is the reason for the fumbles, and can be fixed that is great… my guess is it was a combination of both dislocation, and not protecting the ball.
Yeah.
Didn’t mean to make it seem like I thought it was entirely his shoulder, just thought it could have had an effect.
Nah... I understood what you were saying.
Unfortunately I couldn’t give you a straight answer, because I just don’t know. I just tried to give it as striaght as I could give it.
he needs that shoulder fixed asap
So he can high five romeo next year
