Let's grab this thing by the "Proverbial balls"

This off-season has been nothing but a godsend for Chiefs fans and the Kansas City Chiefs. We are a year away from having the Talent to take the Division outright. Not sneaking, Outright I say. Yet, our foes keep giving us presents :)

Denver Broncos have Josh McDaniels, Brandon Marshall, and Richard Quinn. Not to mention the entire Jay Cutler fiasco. Oakland Raiders with Jamarcus Russel, D.H. Bey, and now the Richard Seymour trade with money they don't have. San Diego Chargers have Shaun Merriman and Norv Turner.

The Kansas City Chiefs were one of three teams to let their OC go last week. And we cut Bernard Pollard and Damien MacIntosh. Drama. Not in Kansas City. The Chiefs have a CHANCE to get a year UP on the competition due to the ineptitude and lack of control by our division rivals. Lets grab a RING while noone is watching :)

You forgot "Iron" Tom Cable knocking out his coaches...

But then the laundry list in Oakland is too long to list in one fanpost.

Damn

I was going to say something about him forgetting about the UFC fights going on in their locker rooms.

Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce

Hey!

You got this idea from my comment on your “The Raiders” post didn’t you?

For shame!

Actually, I wouldn’t have made the post anyway, so have at it.

By the way, “proverbial” is a form of the word “proverb”. What exactly is are “proverbial balls”?

Proverbial – Pertaining to or like a Proverb; commonly spoken of.

An Actual African Proverb (supposedly)

“A child can play with its mother’s breasts, but not its father’s testicles” – Guinea.

That took some searching. I wonder if I am the first person to google “proverbs + testicles”

I would never admit

To having googled testicles. Is it googling testicles that causes rectal froth?

A new proverb:

Verily I say unto you: Googling one’s testicles will surely cause rectal froth.

please tell me you did that at work

“Uh, Donger?

“Yes boss”

“I know the company policy does not explicitly state that googling proverbs and testicles is forbidden, but…”

But, back on topic

When your team goes 2 – 14, you need not only for your team to improve, but for the rest of your division to remain stagnant or move backward for a couple of years.

Broncos – Even IF they benefit from the Cutler trade in the longrun (which I seriously doubt), it will take 2 – 4 years to see it (one of their first rounds picks doesn’t come until next year). Plus the Brandon Marshall shenanigans, all the better. We should have at least 2 – 3 years here.

Raiders – Worst draft of the entire NFL this year. This should haunt them for 2 – 3 years, as they will not have the level of players developing onto their team that they should have, based on their position in the draft. They trade for Richard Seymour, giving up their 2011 first round pick, and they now have to make cap space for him. After this year, his contract is up. This team was NOT one player away from being a Super Bowl contender; Seymour will be either retired or decrepit by the time this team is ready, and the 2011 draft doesn’t look great. Plus, the head coach punching an assistant…there is no telling how many years we have here. : D

Chargers – Did nothing substantail to improve this off-season, and kept Norv Turner as the HC. They signed the guys they had last year, but that resulted in an 8 – 8 season, and we should have won game 2 against them (for that matter they were 5 – 8 and had to win their last three games to make 8 – 8). Shawne Merriman is back, but is now allegedly choking 93-pound women; nice distraction there. The only thing that worries me here is if they pick up Cowher, Shanihan, or Gruden next off-season. But, even if that happens, we have 1 – 2 years here.

Conclusion – From a divisional viewpoint, we could not have asked for any better this offseason.

Also, the window is closing on LT (Chagers) due to age.
