Around SBN: Four TCU Football Players Among 17 Arrested In Drug Ring

Tracking Where the Kansas City Chiefs Roster Cuts End Up

Over the last week or so, the Kansas City Chiefs have parted ways with 27 players. Three of those players were put on IR/PUP list, ending their seasons (in the case of the PUP list, delaying their season until Week 6).

Where will they all end up?

If history is any indication, a good portion of these players will not be playing on an NFL team ever again. Yes, some will make other NFL rosters and still more will be signed to other team's practice squads.

But, for the most part, none of these players are likely to make a splash on another team, save for a guy like Bernard Pollard who still has quite a bit of gas left in the tank.

Check out last year's cuts at this time. Two, maybe three of those guys are in the NFL right now.

After the jump, we've got a table where we will track what happens to each of the Chiefs' cuts. This should be interesting to see where they go, if anywhere.

Remember, some of these guys will end up on the Chiefs practice squad, which they can designate players for as early as today. We'll have a practice squad post coming up soon too.

If you guys hear about any movement by these players, please let us know in the comments and we will get the table updated.

Seymore to the Raiders for 2011 first round pick

Contract

He says that because they have no money to lock him up long term. He is on the last year of his deal…

I like to see him in KC as coach

+1

* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

Very smart move...

This is what we should have done with players like LJ and TG (although Pioli salvaged a 2nd)
you trade descending players when their value is HIGH. NE is not dumb Seymour may have a few years of high level football but that is it. This is how they KEEP staying on top by turning over the roster and keeping ascending players. Don’t be shocked if they move Wilfork too (i would take him) and bring up Brace for the same reason instead of overpaying for Wilfork. Difference is they have other options and depth and teams like the chiefs do not and NEED someone like Vince now.

Great trade by the Pats and very very questionable for the Raiders but nothing will surprise me. I hope they trade next years first for Crabtree! haha

LJ after this year

Wouldn’t be surprised if we run the hell out of LJ and get him back to the spotlight that we trade him for a pick after the years out.

Pollard, Boone will be on teams by week 2. Maybe more than that.

by NJ Chiefs Fan on Sep 6, 2009 12:36 PM CDT reply actions

Agreed

Pollard will be snatched up fastest. Still can’t believe we couldn’t get something out of him as trade bait. My guess is Boone will land somewhere fairly quickly too. I’ll bet Lokey gets some looks. Lelie will show up at the end of someone’s bench just because it seems like he SHOULD be able to play.

Maybe...

Boone was supposed to be signing with the Raiders and then they traded for Seymour. The Colts had need of a safety and they signed Francisco (formerly of the Cardinals). So I’m thinking Pollard will be waiting until someone gets injured.
