Why the Chiefs have an advantage after Saturdays cuts.

These are my thoughts and I might be wrong

Not only do we have the 3rd place waiver wire placement that might allows us to pickup players like A.Q. Shipley, but we have more cap room now than we did on Friday. I'm not certain what our cap room is now after we cut veterans like Amani Toomer, Zach Thomas, Bernard Pollard and Damien McIntosh, but I'm pretty certain our cap dollars grew and put us farther from the cap minimum than we were prior to Saturdays 53 man roster cuts.

I believe this gives us an advantage when we try to go after players that are UFA's when they are cut like Tony Pashos, Leonard Pope and Justin Miller to name a few. We may not be the most attractive team, but we may be the most cap rich team and players agents will know that.

Obviously I am a fan and not a GM, so it may not be this simple, but I am hopeful that my assumptions are right and come next Sunday, when we play Baltimore, our roster has improved at RT, PR and TE.
