Damn I hope we sign Tony Pashos.

Odds are it’ll be someone else, but still.

We need

an o-line that can keep our qb healthy and win games. fixed.

Sackoff (McIntosh,Goff) like Brangelina.

by DaChefs on Sep 5, 2009 7:08 PM CDT reply actions

Matt Cassel was sacked more than any QB last year (47 times) behind New Englands line…this is an injury waiting to happen…something tells me we will not fix the o-line in the next 7 days…so, it would be benificial to have sufficient backup

I guess...

teams could tell we were going to cut him. So they figured they’d just try their luck on a guy who’s at best a backup SS. I do really like Bernard and I think he’s still got tons of potential, but the dude was bad in coverage and always just looking for the big hit. Sorry Bernard…best wishes on someone elses team!

PS – Please don’t sign with the Raiders.

Penn State to Kansas City...Always a winning combination.

Hmmmmm

Doesn’t look like a “Locker room cancer to me” like it was thrown around alot in the other thread. Good luck in your new city…I hope you end in Atlanta with my other favourite Chief.

You better know what the hell you are doing Pioli.

he never was a locker room cancer...

but he would have been if he wasn’t starting and was behind an old man and young kid. He’s cocky as all hell and was never that good. Keep in mind this was when he was young and starting with no competition to make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. You would dance too

Might as well get another one?

Think about this

If you watched our #1 defense this preseason, overall they played well. However, the few long touchdown drives they gave up were pretty similar. When the front seven didn’t get pressure on the QB they were able to pick us apart and keep moving the chains. At no point during those drives was I thinking that the problem was we needed a heavy hitter to lay someone out. What I was thinking was that if we can’t cover better the teams with great o-lines are going to pick us apart. Pollard was never going to be a good coverage safety and if our front seven is stopping the run his value as a run stuffer goes away. Clearly trading him would have been better, but nobody would blink and if everyone knew we were shopping him and he was riding the bench it would of been a distraction for the whole team.

Now I know Mike Brown has major injury concerns, but with Zach Thomas gone he does provide another guy that while healthy can help our other young players develope by getting them in the right place and helping them pick up what the offense is doing. I also know that Morgan isn’t there yet, but I at least see the possibility that he could develope into a safety that can both tackle and cover. Keeping him and Brown both makes since to me because the veteran can help the younger guy grow. I know not everyone will agree, but we’ll be okay.

The Good: Hiring Pioli and Haley, Drafting Tyson Jackson
The Bad: The Offensive Line Play
The Ugly: Thigpen Trying to Play QB

I agree completely

+1

Now that the information is settling in I think all the people that initially freaked their sh*t are going to and should feel pretty stupid. Its going to be ok. This is why you don’t get attached too heavily to players that aren’t very good

agreed

I just feel a 7th round pick we couldve had if we looked, to a team we dont face(non afc west)…this is a 24 year old starter…to me its like the tye hill deal, sure he was a first but still…pollard has panned out better than hill

Sheesh, I love that video!

Thanks for posting the video, its freaking hilarious.

Hate to see BP go and I wish him the best. Its always a numbers game on the cuts, so I’m sure there were reasons for the cut. Unfortunately, we weren’t at all the practices, meetings and OTAs, so we’ll always be a bit mystified by it. I just think that we have to chalk this one up…

Thanks for posting this vid -

Fitting goodbye to one of KC’s best players.

Takes some of the sting out of the terrible mistake of releasing the Bonecrusher.

The bright side is that Pollard may get to play on a good team somewhere and compete for a playoff run.

I hope its the Falcons so he can team up with Gonzo. But it would be ironic if he winds up with an AFC West team and comes hunting KC QB’s twice a year.

If Pioli released him because he was mad about the hit on Brady, he should have stopped to think about what it might be like to have Bonecrusher gunning for his #60 million dollar man Cassel behind the KC offensive line. That is not a pretty thought.
