Thanks to NJ Chiefs Fan

For the last few weeks he has taken the time to put together his Chiefs news from the overnight. It is the first post I read every morning and I know it takes some time to put that all together--so thanks. I also noticed that some other SB Nation Blogs have news compilation posts with witty name and a nice graphic. The name Arrow Heds came to mind. Hed is journalism jargon for headline--it seems to fit all too perfect. Anyway, thanks for taking the time to gather the news and I wanted to throw my suggestion out there. Let's get a name together for NJ Chiefs Fans daily morning posts. Let us know your suggestions in the comments. -Chris

Lets get some ideas going

Let’s keep Chiefs in the title for SEO purposes.

Please read our community rules, netiquette rules and our technical overview before commenting.

I agree

And please don’t take my suggestion to mean that there is anything wrong with the daily post the way it is.

Chris and Joel this is for you, Do you think we could make a section out of the daily news like you already done with stuff like the GM Search, 2009 Off Season, etc. It might be a nice way to track many of the daily news reports.

Consistency is only a value if you are not a screw up.

Oh, and NJ

Don’t get too comfortable….A guy off the street could put up the news post everyday!!

Haha…actually, they probably couldn’t. Many thanks!

by Joel Thorman on Sep 5, 2009 10:01 AM CDT reply actions

Hell yeah they could.

I do want to note that I’ve done two hung over in a row. This morning was/is rough.

by NJ Chiefs Fan on Sep 5, 2009 10:29 AM CDT up reply actions

It would take

22 guys off the street to do what you do.

Thanks!

This is my signature line. It is full of awesome and win.

Years ago I had a Chiefs blog called Tomahawk Territory

Actually, it was even before blogs (and Blogger, etc), so it was just a website, but you get my drift.

I am always amazed

At the amount of content in each morning post. No doubt it does take some work. In a life where extra time is hard to come by, the extra effort really stands out.

Good job!

i feel like

thats was NJ Chiefs Fan called it from the beginning- he should keep it that way or change it the way he wants to. Why fix something that isnt broken? Ya digg?

by CHIEFER on Sep 5, 2009 10:06 AM CDT reply actions

We will probably

Take some of these suggestions, and with NJ’s permission, put them in a poll. Unless there’s an overwhelming response one way or the other.

by Joel Thorman on Sep 5, 2009 10:08 AM CDT reply actions

If it aint broke dont fix it!

Chiefs News from the Overnight works just fine. And, good job NJ Chiefs Fan. Oh, and am I the only one climbing the walls waiting for news on who we cut? or who we picked up in a trade for rOT. I dont think I can make it till 5!!! If I was in KC I wouldnt be up till noon and it would be OK. But im up at 3 am west coast which is like 5 in the evening back home. Im climbing the walls did I mention. So could someone at least come out and tell me the cuts wont be released till 4:30 central haha.

I am good with the way it is as well

Simple and effective.

Thanks guys.

I’m not married to the title. A poll is fine. The current title was the best thing that came to mind on that first early morning.

Bob Gretz already uses Cup O' Chiefs

And his is posted at about 5 am every morning. If NJ posts his earlier, I’d say he has a right to lay claim to it!

Ahh C'mon

Wouldnt it make you feel good if AP titled a recurring piece the same as some other blog, and over the course of time the AP piece ended up with more hits, and a higher Google value than an entire blog =P

Thank you so much to NJ

First post I read every day, well done. Most of the time it seems it could be called “Mistaken Impressions From the Press”, but for me “Chiefs News From the Overnight” works just fine.

Chiefs go 9-7. LJ makes 1400 yards. DBowe makes 1200 yards. Defense #18.

I don't care what you call it

It’s just good shit. I start every morning with these updates so I thank you NJ, I know some days are harder than others. Like tonight will be very active, along with the next few days. I need 4 things to start my day

1 – take a piss

2 – smoke

3 – caffeine

4 – Chiefs news from the over night

if you need a a new name for it maybe something like Chiefs first hit. I’m still waking up so my brain is still not engaged but thank you for taking all the things that happen after I crash and putting into a format that makes it easy to find and to read. My only request is that if you are referring to a Whitlock article to please let us know. I can’t stand him and I won’t read his crap and I don’t want to be another it in his site. Let the fat bot starve for all I care.

is it me? or isn't about time the Lamar Hunt trophy belonged to His team?

I’m a Chiefs fan Dammit and I’m damn proud of it!

Well deserved. I like the name myself.

whatever you decide...

you should use a pic of that bronze statue of an indian on his horse holding his hand over his eyes as he gazes out over the plains… it’s located in one of those park areas down near Penn Valley CC… but would be the perfect complement to NJ Chiefs dailies… the timeless… ever vigilent Scout.
