Question on draft picks
This isn't a Chiefs related issue, aside from this being able to happen to anyone. The question is: if Michael Crabtree does hold out for the entire season, what happens to the 49ers? Does he owe them anything for shafting them out of their #1 pick? Will SF get a compensatory pick next year? is their any (other) way the team will be compensated for this? Just something i've wondered for a while. It seems wrong to let a team's draft picks just dissolve into thin air.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Sanfran will be plum outta luck.
They get nothing back. And if Crabtree thinks what he’s being offered isnt enough just wait until he’s a 2nd rounder or worse next season.

San Fran will trade him before the draft.

No
they can’t trade his rights now, but I think there is a window in the offseason where they can unload him.

gonna be a short line to get him
talented or not you would have to be filthy rich and filthy stupid to trade for a guy who puts himself above his team this way. Id say the raiders but hes too slow for them.
The Jets...
are apparently interested.

Signing?
Don’t they have to sign him before they can trade him. I guess if they promised him he was getting a trade, then he’d sign…
Heck, I don’t know. My understanding is that he would like to play for SF, but wants more $. I didn’t think this was an issue of him not wanting to play for SF. The issue is that he wants top 5 money, which SF will not pay for him…

I think come March they'll have no problem trading him.
They won’t get a 1st for his rights but a 3rd and a 4th seems possible. I’m sure the J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets are anxious to get their new stud QB a legit downfield threat.

And to think.....
Didn’t this guy come out of the draft a couple years early? That, to me, says that he must have really wanted to play in the N.F.L.. Obviously, he also wanted money, but what is the difference? Is he holding out because he wants an extra million on top of his 20 or so million? There may not be hope for this kid if he is this stupid! What is even worse, is that his agent is as stupid if not stupider than him! I am no genious, but I would gladly take a couple hundred thousand to get this kid in a uniform.
Try...
he wants 38 million guaranteed like Heyward-Bey. Fucking Raiders, they mess everything up for everyone else because they have no spine at negotiating. I mean if anything the Raiders had the upper hand because they took him so early.

Yeah
I guess that Mr. Davis must have fealt that DHB was worth 38 mil and that Crabtree was not, he may be the only person in the world with that thought process but he it is his money. I just do not get Crabtree. He wants 38 mil because HE thinks that he was the best receiver in the draft? What a loser. Just take your money and go out and prove that you are worth more.
Shit, if I were him I would be glad to accept less money to play for a better and more stable franchise that has better ownership and a better coach. I think this guy just isnt going to sign now because he will get his head caved in for being such a prick and being so late.
DHB
He LOVES football great speed work to do on his hands, but he LOVES football very important to how a player performs under the lights AFTER getting the PAYCHECK. Oakland will get 110% always from DHB instead of 80% or 75% from Crabtree. Starting to trully think Oakland made the right pick there.
I feel for San Fran
But even if they worked out I don’t expect crabtree would be welcomed into the team. I’m glad kc didn’t go for this guy, especially with the way our new management is. He doesn’t fit the mold at all.

they cant trade him until march.
we could trade up with our 2nd round picks and pick him up late in the first
You are insane if you want this douchbag on our team.
This crybaby hasn’t even played a DOWN in the NFL. And he thinks he will be the next randy moss. This dude is a joke. Trade his ass to some stupid team. He doesn’t belong in SF. And 2 2nd Round picks are WAYYY better than Crabtree. Im pretty sure we need OL too and not just a WR that wants money, money, and more money.

crabtree or dhb
crabtree all day baby , get your money because they are going to make alot off you
i know sports
Agreed
Oakland’s offense is terrible and I think he has a total of 2 fantasy points so far this year. So he is only 2 points ahead of Crabtree right now.
Carlos Rodgers = Crabtree
Pre madonas who only want a Paycheck they don’t LOVE football.
if he doesn't sign ...
he re-enters draft next year and SF will get a compensatory pick – likely between 1sy and 2nd round – and from opinions I’ve read he’s costing himself millions he’ll never recover and will end up signing for much, much less
