But pruning the roster of another administration’s players is only important if the spots opened up are filled by more talented, more accomplished and more productive players. That type of improvement has not been visible. There are four new starters on defense (Tyson Jackson, Mike Vrabel, Corey Mays and Mike Brown), five new starters on offense (Bobby Wade, Mike Goff, Sean Ryan, Ryan O’Callaghan and Matt Cassel) and one new starter in the kicking game (Ryan Succop.)
Of those 10 starters, Vrabel and Cassel would be the only two who have a hammer lock on being in the opening lineup. Mays could find himself replaced this week by rookie Jovan Belcher. The addition of Pope puts Ryan’s status as a starter in jeopardy.

KC Star Poll: When Will the Chiefs Get Their First Win of the Season?
It’s one of the Chiefs’ many challenges, but misfires on the line could have devastating — and long-lasting — consequences. Kansas City quarterbacks already have been sacked eight times in three games, and only six NFL teams have surrendered more. That puts the Chiefs on a dangerous pace. If they keep it up, they’ll allow more than 42 sacks and keep quarterback Matt Cassel on the run during a season in which the team needs him to get comfortable and settle into being the long-term leader.Chiefs having trouble finding right combination on offensive line from KC Star
On Tuesday the Chiefs traded QB Tyler Thigpen to the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed draft choice.
That was good news for Thigpen who was trapped in a no-win situation with the Chiefs. GM Scott Pioli and head coach Todd Haley did not view him as potential quarterback for them. There’s a good chance Thigpen would have gone to Jacksonville in a trade before the season’s first game, but the knee injury to starter Matt Cassel put that on hold.

So overall looking at the offense, there are at least 4 spots, where the level of talent is just not up to NFL quality much less starter. Getting a top flight RB, a WR, a TE and at least one new offensive line have to be musts this upcoming offseason. Or they can just check the waiver wire, since they seem to think they can find talent there. The Plight of the Kansas City Chiefs from Draft Board Insider
The Kansas City Chiefs and Hy-Vee are teaming up for a very special cause. At the team’s October 4th game against the New York Giants, the organization will officially recognize “National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.” Thanks to a series of exciting programs, Chiefs fans are able to participate in the fight against breast cancer while showing their Chiefs pride. The winless Kansas City Chiefs will continue their tour through the meat grinder when the 3-0 New York Giants pay a visit to Arrowhead Stadium this Sunday afternoon in the team's second of four straight games against the touted NFC East division.
The Chiefs opened their expedition versus the NFC East in Philadelphia, where they dropped a 34-14 decision last Sunday in which first-year head coach Todd Haley said afterwards that he thought Kansas City had a chance of winning. It's pretty hard to win a game, however, when a team goes 0-for-11 on third down and allows 420 yards of offense.

Most sports fans in America can only dream of having a simple basement filled with props of their favorite team. But for Steve McNeely, his entire house has become a man cave of the Kansas City Chiefs.
"I love showin' off what I did," says McNeeley.

Still sore from Sunday’s game, the Chiefs’ Sean Ryan joked that a group of preschoolers would need to help him up from the library’s carpeted floor.
The children from Operation Breakthrough giggled and swarmed the 260-pound tight end, re-enacting the U.S. Marines’ raising of the flag at Iwo Jima.
If the children warmed to Ryan like a favorite uncle, it was because they’d already established a common love.

Coach Todd Haley indicated that Dwayne Bowe could miss the Chiefs Week 4 game against the Giants due to his hamstring injury, according to the Kansas City Star. "Anytime you're talking about a hamstring, especially with a skill position, you've got to err on the side of caution because those things can end up being a long-term thing if you're not careful," Haley said.Bowe Could Miss Week 4 from Rototimes
The last year the Chiefs had a winning record, made the playoffs and featured a 1,000-yard rusher was 2006. That was also the last season they had a truly solid offensive line? Is it some crazy coincidence? Not likely.
No player tweets today, and I didn't have the heart to do the fan ones. They are... brutal.

I've seen McNeeley's house in Joplin...
It is pretty cool. I’d never do that with my house, but I gotta give him props!

He may have a nice house,
but is Steve on AP. If not I can’t allow him to be called the “Ultimate Fan” :)

That article by Draft Board Insider was excellent
He’s not 100% accurate, especially in saying that Charles got cut, and he really devalues the linebackers that the Chiefs do have, and also Dwane Bowe, but otherwise he offers an awful lot of inside across the board. A really good read.
I still say this team is capable of getting 4-6 wins. The claim that the Chiefs will be battling the Browns for the numero uno draft pick is a bit short sighted.

Joe Posnanski doesn't think we are the worst team ever....maybe.
If you see the Kansas City Chiefs give up against the Philadelphia Eagles like they did on Sunday, you might say: “This is the worst football team in the history of the NFL.” That too would be a fanbole. The Chiefs are terrible, but they are probably not the worst team in NFL history. Probably not.

Good read on current Chiefs happenings
I venture to say that KC wins 4 games this year. I hope the Clancy doesn’t lose the “D” I was disturbed by reports out of Philly that they were ignoring him on the sidelines.

Actually ...
I’d kind of like to read the fan tweets. This team needs a little ‘tough love’ right now.

Butt Kickin
I love the way that Haley gets in the face of these guys. They need someone who will show them the door, if they don’t perform. I think more will be instore down the road. And it doesn’t look good for the giants game with Bowe out.

Just curious if
they are going to do a story on those other 6 teams who have a worse sack record than us? Seems like if we are on a “dangerous” pace that those other six might just implode mid season. Which would be more fun to see? :)
