Around SBN: Bracketology 2012: Duke Finally Steps Up To The No. 1 Line

The Final 53

This is what I think will be the final 53 after watching the game tonight.

OL
Branden Albert, Barry Richardson
Brian Waters, Wade Smith
Rudy Niswanger, Andy Alleman
Mike Goff, (Andy Alleman)
Damien McIntosh, Ikechuku Ndukwe

RB
Larry Johnson, Jamaal Charles, Jackie Battle, Dantrell Savage (KR/PR)

Savage makes the team after a good showing tonight, and gets the KR/PR job because he's the only one that didn't completely f**k it up.

LB
Tamba Hali, Monty Beisel
Derrick Johnson, Demorrio Williams
Corey Mays, Zach Thomas
Mike Vrabel, Andy Studebaker

Special Teams:
Jovan Belcher

WR
Dwayne Bowe, Terrence Copper
Mark Bradley, Ashley Lelie
Bobby Engram (slot), Quinten Lawrence

CB
Brandon Carr, Ricardo Colclough
Brandon Flowers, Donald Washington
Maurice Leggett (nickel)

QB
Matt Cassel, Brodie Croyle, Matt Guitierrez

P/K/LS
Dustin Colquitt
Ryan Succop
Thomas Gafford

TE/FB
Sean Ryan, Brad Cottam, Jake O’Connell, (Thomas Gafford)
Mike Cox

DE
Glenn Dorsey, Alex Magee
Tyson Jackson, Wallace Gilberry

NT
Ron Edwards, Tank Tyler

S
Jarrad Page, Jon McGraw
Bernard Pollard, DaJuan Morgan

Keep in mind that a couple of these people will also be cut in order to add more talent. Namely: Wade Smith, Terrence Copper.

Whaddya think?

Pretty good thoughts, I think alot will change after Pioli see who else gets cut.

Richardson won’t make the cut. McIntosh might make the cut but will be gone once another Tackle comes available (i.e. Tony Pashos, etc) . Copper probably is gone, I agree Thigpen is gone. They’ll probably keep Mike Brown and I’m not sure Jackie Battle makes it.

Battle will make it

Keep Wade Smith

jettison McIntosh’s fatass out of KC

Thank You Carl Peterson for drafting Dustin Colquitt

Agreed - how is McIntosh even on this list?

Did you watch him not even try to block last night?

No way that Colin Brown gets cut.

And there will likely only be 9 offensive lineman when everything is said and done. Can only dress 8 on game day anyway.

I don't know about Colclough

He hasn’t done anything but blow coverages….maybe the best option for depth i guess

Holy Shit!!!...Peterson resigned...Am I dead?...Is This Heaven?

alright

after looking I guess he is the best #5 CB option we have

Not bad overall

Here’s mine, I’m still updating it to keep track, but not reposting :)

the only places I see where I’d argue with you are Herb Taylor and Colin Brown, they may have a place somewhere, if no one is brought in.

Also, not sure Mike Brown gets cut… will have to see about that.

* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

They really like Battle

Personally I like Savage, but I’ve just seen to many small fast RB’s get cut to really believe he will make this team. They are still shopping for a KR (Lawrence is a option) honestly, and I think Savage sadly will get cut. They just don’t have room and Battle has a greater chance at a career in the NFL. Its hard to pick a Warrick Dunn out of every small RB that comes through camp.

i think your pretty close

I think we will see 5 new players by monday

My guess:

RT Pashos (not sure what he has left but low risk and he can play guard)
LS (guy the pats cut)
WR (maybe surprise like Matt Jones?
C no clue maybe a trade for one or 2 lineman
RG again our line is so bad that the Giants 8 best OL would start here

I think Lawrence makes it as a KR and slot. he has potential and is going to screw up but he is quick and is a rookie. I would CUT Goff and McIntosh IF we pick up another OL. I dont want to salvage our draft next year but we need to get creative to get more OL. Maybe trade players like Pollard, Croyle, LJ (if someone loses a RB early), to keep adding to our O and D lines.

Trades...

I can’t imagine any of those 3 getting traded (Pollard, Croyle, LJ)

I could imagine McBride, Morgan, Thigpen being traded… but I doubt any of them have that good of a market.

I think Pioli will make a few waiver wire pickups… just not sure who and what.
Probably OL, WR… maybe TE…. hopefully an electric returner
