Open Thread #5: Tyler Thigpen with the Pick Six; Chiefs Down by Five

The Kansas City Chiefs are down 14 to 9 to the St. Louis Rams.

Brodie Croyle is done for the day and Tyler Thigpen is already struggling. To be fair, Brodie Croyle didn't exactly light it up either.

The defense continues to shut down a Rams offense that doesn't have any weapons. I'm trying to take my homer glasses off tonight in case you were wondering.

Chat away. Fourth quarter is about to begin...

As much time as he spends reviewing his interceptions

while our offense isn’t on the field, you’d think he’d know how to read a defense by now. It’s not like its Jim Johnson throwing everything but the kitchen sink at us in there. Its a 3rd-string defense running vanilla schemes.

Yeah, cause Guitz...

Did so well against Minnesota and Seattle. As I recall, he couldn’t get it done in those games. Stats are nice and pretty, but the dude failed at the end of the game when we had a chance.

This is not me saying Tyler is the better option, either. I’m saying nobody on our team can get it done right now.

Our defense is surprisingly stout. The Steelers OLine is pretty F’in terrible too, and I don’t see why we can’t put up 3-4 sacks against them. We could very well win that game.

Too bad Croyle has the chance th throw 3 TD passes to open receivers.

Haleys play calling was really good tonight.

Thats clear and obvious. Much better then Chan. And the guys who will be paid to execute will execute.

I do have to say

our first team against their first team would have been no contest. We’d have beat them.

Agreed

I’ve felt the same for most of our preseason games (all but the Texans game)

by Aperture on Sep 3, 2009 10:02 PM CDT up reply actions

Their #1 D was gonna chew up our #1 O.

In a “real life” situation, it’d been between Thiggy and Gutsy, with Gutsy ahead of Thiggie, and Thiggie for if everything else had failed and we want to trade TDs and INTs in an ugly game and a much better defense than last year.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

The defense and special teams have shown improvement…

If we can figure out some way to mask our O-line deficiencies, we might be ok.
