Open Thread: Kansas City Chiefs v. St. Louis Rams

VS.

Who: Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Rams (Turf Show Times)

What: The Governor's Cup

Where: Some corporate stadium

When: 7:00 PM CST

Not playing for the Chiefs: QB Matt Cassel, S Jarrad Page, TE Jake O’Connell, S Bernard Pollard and LB Zach Thomas.

Brandon Flowers will dress but isn't expected to play.

Not playing for the Rams: QB Marc Bulger, FB Mike Karney, G Richie Incognito and DE Leonard Little

The Chiefs take on the St. Louis Rams at the Edward Jones Dome this evening.  It marks the final preseason game before real action starts at Baltimore on September 13th.

Chris and I both have a handful of friends from St. Louis so there's definitely a rivalry feel to this.  Honestly, I think they just found out St. Louis has a football team.

The game is blacked out in St. Louis but will be shown locally on KCTV5 (Ch. 3 for most of us).

As usual, leave your pre-game predictions in this thread.  The winner gets a free one-year subscription to Arrowhead Pride.

If we get the scores predicted right, does it also include the 6 months of all access insider info? with temporary banning powers?

Chiefs 31, Rams 9

who knows, though

* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season

details

3 offensive TDs, 2 passing, one rushing
1 defensive TD, picking up where they left off last week
1 50yd FG for Succop
3 sacks

You gotta think

Haley is going to be ultra aggressive. If Chan was playing it too conservative for him then I expect him to go after them. I don’t think we’ve taken a shot deep all preseason…then again…that takes time the QB hasn’t really had.

Put this in your pipe and smoke it:

4. DBowe drops will reduce

Chiefs Victory...

27-14. LJ breaks one open and DBowe pulls in an easy grab as well.

Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce

Or does Grodie Boyle have absolutely ZERO “touch” on short yardage passes? D Bowe should have had that TD, andf had it it been Huard or Trent Green, hell Thiggy throwing that pass D Bowe probably could have caught it. Oh a side note. JayCee is Captain Obvious
