Cheers to Tyler Thigpen
I'm not sure there has been a more debated aspect to the Chiefs than the roll of Tyler Thigpen. It seemed to me that either you loved him or hated him, there was nothing in between. Arguments varied from "He'll never be a pro-style QB" to "He's the future, lets open up the playbook and let him succeed"
Toward the middle of 2008, the Chiefs became impossible to watch. The offense was stagnant, and the defense couldn't stop anyone. During the Panther game, I actually changed the channel and didn't watch the second half. I have never done that before. But then something happened.
The departed Chan Gailey opened up the playbook and Thigpen became a very dynamic playmaker and the Chiefs were in every game with exciting wide-open playcalling. This did not translate to wins, however it was a welcome departure from uberconvervative Herm ball. I'd be remiss not to make a mention one of my favourite Chiefs play off all time: Bradley to Thigpen.
The All-time-Chief TE Tony Gonzalez stated before he left that KC had finally found their QB, and they just needed to build a team around him. Pioli and Co decided to pursue Matt Cassel and the rest is history.
I propose we raise our glasses and say "Cheers Tyler, good luck in Miami". I'll be rooting for you

I'll second this
He has every chance to succeed in Miami. He was a talented player and I was of the following to stick with him this year, that is until the Gonzalez trade happened. My uncle played for Miami so they’ve always sort of were my second team, next to the Packers (my cousin plays for them).

he's on their practice squad I think
it’s pretty cool hearing from him though… I’ve been pressing for him to get me an Aaron Rodgers autograph cuz he’s one of my favorite QB’s in the game but he insists it’s not that simple. lol

it's always cool to know people in the NFL
Maake and Chris Kemoeatu (Panthers and Steelers respectively) both lived about 10 minutes opposite my house and my sister went to high school with them.. Aaron Francisco is pretty tight with my sister so I was hoping we’d sign him. Leonard Peters (Jets) went to my high school and was my speed coach in the off season when he was at UH. Finally my dad coached Al Afalava in pop warner (I was too young so I was water boy, he lived about a minute from my house throughout high school. benefits to going to the high school tied for best pro factory

nice
I live right across from LT. Also work out at the same gym he does in the offseason, different trainer, but side by side at times…
also got to see maurice clarett work on his 40 time, and complain and moan about warmups and working too hard…refused to do drills, it was pathetic…they still raised his time though.
large list of players work at that gym at some point, aaron rodgers included, but clarett stuck out as the worst of all athletes…

I really like that Haley made a point
of saying that Thiggy was going to a good organization and that he was happy for him. Win/Win. Loved how the kid conducted himself and cheer him on.
