"No, there is not a quarterback controversy, " Haley said. "My message is going to continue to be consistent to you. I just want (everyone) to understand that."
Haley’s message of consistency is one of competition and dependable play at each position, quarterback included. Croyle echoed Haley comments in the locker room today.
"Matt is the man and they brought him here to be that," QB Brodie Croyle said today. "I just go out there and try to play. Whenever my number is call, I try to go out there and play. But there is no controversy."

Finally!
Maybe now we won’t have 10 posts a day detailing how each person feels about the QB “controversy.” I don’t understand all this pro Brodie talk. He is an ok QB but has never shown the intangibles that I believe matt posesses. I was at the game Sunday and Cassell played well. One pick was a poor decision, the other was a good play by Huff.
It is a new Era at Arrowhead. I do not yet know if it is one of greatness or one of ineptitude. I am excited to see which way it goes, and will support my team until the end, bitter or sweet!

Oh but you know there will be
No matter if it comes from a great source like say the head coach, Whitlock will steam something up, or the media and/or fans just wont look at the facts. I truely don’t understand so brodie might have played a decent game, but so did Cassel, yes Cassel had 2 picks so what it was his first game. If you want my opionion, Brodie needs to show more than one game that he can show that kind of play before we put any weight on his shoulders, if it happens to soon the wieght might buckle one of his knees. The thing is, he needs the opportunity to show that, and his time has passed, Cassel would have to go down for the rest of the season for him to get his chance. I like having Brodie as a back-up but assuming he can stay healthy is like assuming thigpen can be accurate, or saying whitlock can write something worth reading. Judging by Cassels play, the guy has heart, he can run, he can play, most of the offensive mistakes seemed to come from the new offense that was just installed 3 weeks ago? Give it time, don’t dwell on herms picks, they looked good on paper, but horrid on the field!

This is good to see
even knowing every one of us already knew this.

Try this:
< code > Cassell Sucks! (wish I had that sarcastic font) < / code >
without the spaces.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Of course, if you include the "wish I had that sarcastic font"
in there, like I did, you’ll end up conveying the opposite of your intention. But I guess that’s sorta how sarcasm works.

Here's the thing.
From a tradition that started Brady over Bledsoe, this team is not going to be hidebound about who starts. The man adjudged as better will get the start, and the other guy will hold the clipboard and help out to the best of his ability. Same as Bledsoe did. A good team will accept nothing less.
The starting QB spot SHOULD be up-for-grabs, or nearly so, with the guy who won the last game as a starter the prohibitive favorite to start the next. If it’s a cancer, then you had an unhealthy locker room and poor mgmt long before the QB thing cropped up. It’s only a controversy if the team partakes of it, and you know that this team won’t. First of all, it’s not in the character of ANY of these QBs. Cassel held a clipboard for many years before this, and would be disappointed to be demoted, but he’d keep being the man he’s already proven himself to be, and Croyle, Thigpen and Gutierrez certainly have no pretensions.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Catch phrases like"QB Controversy" are just handy labels newsies can slap on stories to sell more advertising to stupid people.

With Tuesday behind us, there's not much news 'til Sunday.
Even Gretz is just repackaging Haley’s last public statements…
I think the thing with Haley is that some people just don’t like how he acts or how he looks. And everything is filtered through that impression. Myself, I don’t care what he looks like, and I just like the way he handles himself. He impresses me simply by not trying to impress me, by staying on-message, by comin’ across like I think a leader should.
I wouldn’t make a lot of the biting comments I hear him make, but I know how those guys talk to each other, and it sounds to me like somebody who speaks the players’ language. And you know? It’s my language, too. The kind of talk only BROTHERS can engage in.
Winning Sunday will cure a LOT of ills. Not winning and all the media’s going to have to say are negative things. Goes with the territory. But as a fan who loves the game, I’m seeing more and more of the kind of football I want to see. The main compromise I don’t like seeing on the field is soft secondary and too much LB-in-coverage. This is not a staff who trusts its secondary. Otherwise, the D is miles ahead of last year, and the offense looks like it’s building a complete game – no more 1-dimensionality. So I’m guardedly optimistic.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.
