Well, the Kansas City Chiefs have been consistent in at least one area this week: Injury reports.

Quarterback Matt Cassel and cornerback Brandon Flowers have been listed as limited participants Wednesday and Thursday, the first two days in which teams are required by the league to submit injury reports.

(As we've explained before, the reports that come out on Wednesday and Thursday are merely practice reports indicating whether an injured player did not participate, was a limited participant or had full participation).

Friday is the first (and only) day in which teams are required to submit another injury designation: out, doubtful, questionable or probable.

The Chiefs listed Cassel and Flowers as "questionable" which means, in the league's eyes, they have about a 50-50 chance of playing.  We've gone over Cassel's injury status (Update: There is no current update on his injury status).

Flowers told reporters today that he plans on playing Sunday against the Oakland Raiders.  Of course, he also said that last week and the coaches held him out.

For the Raiders, there are two wide receivers that are out: Chaz Schilens and Nick Miller.  Another wide receiver, Johnnie Lee Higgins, is questionable with a shoulder injury.  Javon Walker will make an appearance at Arrowhead this weekend.

Meanwhile, a trio of key defensive components for the Raiders are listed as probable: DE Greg Ellis (shoulder), CB Nnamdi Asomugha (wrist) and LB Kirk Morrison (elbow).

Surprise Surprise

None here. From everything I hear, it’s time for Cassel to get out there and earn his paycheck. He needs to take charge on Sunday and play like his check says he should play. Now is the time to solidify yourself as the starter and OWN this team and this offense. And Flowers, oh, does getting him back make me giddy. Hell, just the mere thought of our 1st home game gets me pumped. GO CHIEFS!!!

Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce

Was Cassel's injury left knee or right knee?

Beacause I have tried a little voodoo to transfer the pain from Cassel to me and my left knee is killing me since Thursday morning. Cassel should be good to go, cause I ain’t :(

Let's Kick some ASS in 09 or Die trying
