Someone (IISaiNtII ) posted the title change idea yesterday. I kind of like it. What do you guys think? Still searchable, right Chris?
Third-down defense hurt the Chiefs in Baltimore, and not just on the TD pass from Flacco to Clayton that provided the winning points. That was just one of 10 conversions in 17 attempts for the Ravens, or a 59 percent success rate.
All three of Flacco’s TD passes came on third down and two were on 3rd-and-8 plays. In fact, the Chiefs defense forced Baltimore into 10 plays on third down that needed eight yards or more to move the sticks. The Ravens converted six times; that’s a significantly high number for one of the toughest downs in football.

KC Star Video: Haley wants physical receivers
Having Wade against the Raiders is also a priority for the Chiefs and coach Todd Haley. Haley would like Wade to be available, if nothing else, as a punt returner, where the Chiefs have sorted through several candidates and found them all lacking.
Chiefs want Wade in the mix quickly from KC Star
It came on a cold, chilly night in Golden Gate State Park, as the Texans beat the Oakland Raiders 34-16 at Kezar Stadium.

Unlike some of the other receivers Haley brought in this offseason, he seems visibly excited about Wade.
“I think we’ve got to get him quickly into the mix,” said Haley. “Bobby is a guy that I have some background with. He’s got some punt return ability. He hasn’t done it in a while, but he’s done it, and done it at a high level at times, so we’ve got to get him going quick.”

6. Russell, Murphy and Heyward-Bey vs. the Kansas City Chiefs Defense
Projection: Russell is too inconsistent to consider a starting QB this weekend, so don’t bother putting him in your lineup unless you’re desperate. We already told you to dump DHB, so Murphy is the only possible option. Expect the Chiefs’ secondary to keep an eye on him: five receptions for 62 yards.

National Football League wide receiver Devard Darling took the first step towards a long recovery yesterday.
Darling underwent successful surgery yesterday to repair a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament which left him sidelined for the 2009-10 season.

This Sunday, Bell, who went on to star for the Kansas City Chiefs, will attend another football celebration. It will be at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., where he lives, for the 50th anniversary of the American Football League's inception.
Bell, who loves to dance, will be featured with a couple of other former Chiefs players who will sing and dance to Motown tunes at halftime of the Chiefs-Oakland Raiders game.
Ride with Kansas City running back Larry Johnson this weekend. Johnson isn’t quite as washed up as LT (yet) and with quarterback Matt Cassel expected to return, that could open the running game up.
Column: Feeling the sting of the season’s start from The Journal-Standard
There were many clues that Wednesday night’s “El Clásico” at Arrowhead Stadium wouldn’t be like any other soccer game in Kansas City history.
From the traffic jam on I-70 to the flag-waving, horn-blowing crowd that was tailgating to the pregame fireworks, there was a distinct feel to the match between Mexico’s Club América and Club Deportivo Guadalajara, better known as Chivas.
“I didn’t realize we had to be cheerleaders, and we get this a lot. We’re being real! The teams in this town have been awful. So to sit here and be a cheerleader for the Chiefs and pretend this is a good football team makes us look stupid, because they’re not.”
