The Atrocious Return Game

Hey gang,

What's the 411 on on our kick return game? I see we've made two new additions in the receiving corps this week with players who both have experience in the return game. Kansas City hasn't had a capable return specialist since the heyday's of Eddie Drummond or B.J. Sams.

With Pioli and Haley's attention to detail & special teams I can't see them possibly keeping content with players we have now. I said since Day 1 it was a horrible idea to have Leggett field any punts. Keep him at DB; quit fooling around. Same with Charles - he's a RB not a KR. I can understand trying to get best use out of your 53 guys but as we love to say around here you can't put a square peg in a round hole. I know we're fully loaded at the CB position but as bad as our return game is and as good as Justin Miller is, it floors me he's not returning kicks for SOMEBODY.

What's everyone's thoughts on whats to come? Can we see any kickoff returns taken past the 30 this year or will this be another year we're gonna be starting every drive from the 20?

I think Drummond put a curse on the position.

D-Bowe, Mark Bradley, Bobby Engram and Turtle. Four Chiefs WRers. 4 Pro Bowlers.

Drummond?

man I hated that guy. I like Charles at KR, at least he is fast. PR is something we will have to address next year. Miller provides no value except as a return man. Who would we cut? Colclough maybe.

Sounds good to me

I still don’t know why Colclough is here. He obviously is showing Haley/Pioli something we’re not seeing. And I think that something is somewhere on special teams. Because in coverage (which, yanno, is primary job for a DB) he gets torched

I guess...

but we better hope that our DBs stay healthy because Miller sucks in coverage as well.

UH, why do we have to wait till next year...

to address PR? there’s gotta be someone, either current roster or market pick-up, to do it, or at least someone who can catch the damn thing. Its not like we’re looking for a franchise QB or star RB here!

agreed.

shouldnt’ be that difficult

I’m still hoping Charles is the next Leon Washington

The ol' McGraw Draw

on the punt defense, eh? Would be a better gameplan if Bernie was still around

YES... Justin Miller

sign him today, cut Colclough.

that also gives Haley some Raiders intel this week :)

KR/PR improvement would not only help the special teams, but the field position would be HUGE for the offense and defense

I played with Colclough in high school....

impressed he’s still in the league for sure.

Field position

I want improvement there. Long fields for our defense and shorter fields for our offense.

I believe that Coach Haley is working on that as we speak
