Week 2: Chiefs vs Raiders(Matchups)
I know it is early (Raiders haven't even played yet) but you better believe Haley is already working on the game plan. Here is my thoughts on the matchups for week two against the Faders. Opening day at Arrowhead. I expect big crowds and a big score.
Chaz Schilens, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Johnnie Lee Higgins VS Brandon Flowers, Brandon Carr, Maurice Leggett
Schilens is a tall reciever that could cause matchup problems against our smaller backs. Bey is of course fast along with Higgins. I expect help from our safeties to shut down the deep ball.
-Edge: Chiefs
Nnamdi Asomugha, Chris Johnson, Stanford Routt VS Dwayne Bowe, Mark Bradley, Bobby Engram
They have taller CB's than we do. Asomugha is the best player on their sad defense and will most likely put up pro-bowl numbers. Bowe will give him some good competition. I say we have the best chance in the middle of the field against their secondary.
-Edge: Tie
Raiders Offensive Line VS Chiefs Defensive Line
They have pretty big linemen up front but it's pretty bad. Pretty comparable to ours. I expect our defensive to give them different looks and blitz early and often.
-Edge: Chiefs
Chiefs Offensive Line VS Raiders Defensive Line
With the addition of Seymour it adds a lot more quality to a stale line. It will take him a few weeks to get in sync with the rest of the line. I don't think they'll have much of a problem with our line.
-Edge: Raiders
JaMarcus Russell VS Chiefs Secondary
He has been shown to struggle especially with a pass rush. We'll do better with thier weak O-Line. Our secondary is strong especially if weget Flowers back this week. I see a couple INT for our defense.
-Edge: Chiefs
Matt Cassel VS Raiders Secondary
I'm not too worried about their secondary. I expect Cassel to rip them apart IF he is given time. I'm worried about Asomugha. He can makeplays for their Defense. We need to control the middle of the field and have some nice runs to spread them out.
-Edge: Chiefs
Larry Johnson, Jamaal Charles VS Raiders Defense
LJ will have a much better day against a sad defensive line. Look for Charles to break the long screen plays.
-Edge: Chiefs
Darren McFadden, Justin Fargas VS Chiefs Defense
We have shown to stop the run. It seems like we always give up big plays to Fargas though. McFadden is a speedster whom we need to shut down early.
-Edge: Raiders
Chiefs Special Teams vs Raiders Special Teams
They have the return game. We have the more talented players. They have a vet kicker. We have a outstanding rookie.
-Edge: Tie

I think we'll know alot more about this team after tonights game
Also, anyone know what the deal is with Richard Seymour? Even if he does report to Oakland, will be be ready to go for week 2? It would be nice to get the running game going.
And so, Craig finds himself leaping from blog to blog, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home.

Seymore reported Saturday 6 days after the trade
He said he plans to play tonight and I quote “I’ll be the one on top the Quarterback”.
Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

Personally I don't think this is early Chiefsfan
This is where our attention needs to be focused right now. The Ravens game is over, we lost, it’s done in the books. I know that is where the Chiefs head is at right now and I’m sure they will be watching the game tonight with more than enough interest.
I honestly believe this is the game that Matt Cassel starts and hope Flowers returns as well. I haven’t heard anything about Flowers lately, probably because of all the Cassel hype.

I think that is the plan unless practice goes bad or they want to give him another week.

Flowers and Cassel will be back...
Hopefully O’Callaghan will take over starting RT, unless Runyan or Walker are signed.
I think the Chiefs matchup very well against the Raiders.
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
