Three Chiefs Questionable for Sunday's Game Against the Ravens
Via Josh Looney, here are the questionables for Sunday: Matt Cassel, Brandon Flowers, Terrance Copper
I just told you a few minutes ago that Todd Haley confirmed that Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens. That was no surprise as Haley had already indicated earlier in the week that would be the case.
It is, however, a little surprising to see Brandon Flowers listed as "questionable" for Sunday's game. As you all know, he hurt his shoulder in the third preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. Of course, there's been no talk of his injury by the Chiefs coaching staff.
The "questionable" designation means he has a 50-50 chance of playing. I would have guessed he would have been "probable" which means it's a near certainty he'll be on the field.
Maurice Leggett played in Flowers' place for the remainder of the Seahawks game. Donald Washington took his spot in the final preseason game against the Rams. I would guess that Washington would take his spot if he were unable to go.
But, by all indications, including from Flowers himself, he'll be out there on Sunday.
We're not sure what Terrance Copper did. He was not listed on Wednesday's injury report. On Thursday, however, he was "limited in participation" with a hamstring injury. His status for Sunday is unknown.
Jackie Battle was listed on Wednesday's report as a limited participant due to an illness. On Thursday, he was ugpraded to a full participant and he does not appear on the final injury report.
Here's how the Ravens injury report is shaking out:
Doubtful - TE L.J. Smith
Questionable - LB Dannell Ellerbe
Probable - LB Brendon Ayanbadejo, DE Haloti Ngata
Smith and Ellerbe probably won't play.

I think Flowers' injury is the more important injury for this game
I think the offense will most likely have a tough day ahead of them no matter which qb is in there (Cassel not 100% or Croyle healthy) Atleast If Flowers plays our D gains a shutdown corner/playmaker. What do you guys think?
I agree that we need him out there
he is a big playmaker and who would get the nod in his place? Washington? hes looked good at times but Id feel a lot more comfortable with Flowers in there. but I think we need Cassel to have a chance in this one.
Yep.
I was rooting for the Chiefs to take Flowers in last years draft. He was KC’s best pick in 2008. I liked him in Virginia, and am sold that he is a future perennial pro-bowler. He still needs to keep developing in the NFL though. We sure could use a break out year from him in 2009.
Now if the Chiefs want to have any chance to win Sunday, they’ll need leadership on the offense. Croyle hasn’t shown me that he can lead a team and finish drives. Thigpen could, but he’s in the dog house. Cassel gives us the best chance to win against Baltimore. If he can play, he HAS to.
About the Chiefs: I'd rather be a realist than a pessimist

Flowers WILL be playing this Sunday.
LJ Smith is a pretty big injury for the Ravens isn’t it?
I would think so
they dont have a lot of depth at WRs or TE they need someone besides Mason to get the ball too
LJ Smith is a terrible player.
We don’t have depth at TE, but I don’t know that Smith makes us much better. Heap and Jones were often our two healthy TEs last year. Heap is certainly the starter, so I don’t know how big I would say a backup TE injury is to the team. LJ Smith is at most the 30th most important player on the team.
