I like that call.

Except the Steelers have the Patriots number in the playoffs.

Been beat so many times in the title game I think it will be a blood bath. Especially when you consider that if the steelers win the superbowl again this year, they can make quite the case for team of the decade status.

Predictions.

I really think they can, i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt. But Jamal Brown is out, Thats the equivilant as Albert out on our line, except not every other position on their line sucks like ours, except Waters of coarse.

ROTY

A RB on a team that has historically been able to throw any RBs out there and play well. Plus Orton sucks and they’ll run more.

by Joel Thorman on Sep 10, 2009 7:22 PM CDT up reply actions

I didnt

realize that Denvers RB’s extended further back than Shanahan.

Then again, why the hell would I know Denvers history?

by Petey14 on Sep 10, 2009 8:13 PM CDT up reply actions

It is also a team that you are picking last in a poor division

ROY’s at RB do not occur on team’s finishing last in the modern NFL. They just don’t get enough rushing opportunities constantly playing from behind.

We have to figure that a team finishing last in the AFC West this year is probably winning 4 games or less. You won’t have the ROY on a team like that.

The two picks just don’t jive. Moreno is the ROY favorite in large part because he is the top RB taken in the draft, and has a good chance for a number of carries. But if Denver is that poor, he will no longer be in a position to win that award.

I like the predictions

but not sure what to make of the Superbowl. Its pretty unlikely that 2 2nd year QB’s take their team to the superbowl. But then again, its pretty unlikely that 2 rookie QB’s take their team to the playoffs like Flacco and Ryan did last season.

But Joe Flacco, IMO, is hype. 1 turnover for every TD is not good by anymeans. A low average per attempt, a low amount of attempts, a strong running game, and a defensive powerhouse are the reasons why the Ravens were good, not Flacco. BUT..Flacco IS an upgrade over Troy Smith.

Matt Ryan is the better QB, but Flacco has a better chance of gettin into the Superbowl. History says that Turner shouldnt have a good year. Without Turner, how well can Ryan play? He had White and Gonzo to throw to so he’ll have a couple targets, not to mention Norwood out of the backfield. Matt Ryan doesnt have 3 guys who can run the ball atleast somewhat effectively, and he doesnt have a top 5 D to ride on.

Personally, I dont think either of these teams make it to the Superbowl, but if I had to choose one, I’d say the Ravens.

by Petey14 on Sep 10, 2009 8:21 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree that Flacco is not as good as the hype, but he gives the one thing Balt has been missing for years

A QB that can keep defenses honest. He doesn’t have to be Aaron Rodgers, just the second coming of Trent Dilfer. He’ll throw more picks than Dilfer did, but he’ll also make more plays.

Baltimore could taste the SB last year, and I think Ray is a man on a mission.

by mushin on Sep 11, 2009 7:40 AM CDT up reply actions

And thats why

I said the Ravens ahve a better chance at the Superbowl. Flacco stepped into a more complete team than Ryan did. The Ravens just needed a QB and they got one. The Ravens needed a QB, and some defenders.

I think the Falcons making the playoffs had ALOT more to do with Matt Ryan than the Ravens making the playoffs having to do with Joe Flacco.

Donkeys
Raidaaa’s

Mark my words, in that order. Although if it makes J-Man happy, I could see the Donkeys surprising people and finishing ahead of the Bolts. Lightning Bolts are OVER-RATED! – we should have beat them twice last year, that kind of Herm Edwards gift wrapping is not going to happen this year!

Anyone who predicts the Chiefs to make the playoffs is crazy! That isn’t to say they won’t be right. Any team could make the playoffs. There just isn’t a lot of EVIDENCE that the Chiefs have improved enough to win the division and make the playoffs.

I like the spirit though. Even if the Chiefs aren’t #1 in my predictions or rankings, they are #1 in my heart….awwwww…..puke.

And so, Craig finds himself leaping from blog to blog, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home.

a few predictions

Chiefs go 2-6 first half and 5-3 second half for 7-9

NFC North will be competitive. Packers take it, but all 3 other teams are better than reported IMO.

Saints win a playoff game.

Eagles are strong, Chargers can’t handle them in SB. Reid will try to get Vick that SB MVP you watch. Reid coach of the year. Vick comeback player of year.

ROY Matt Stafford

LJ 1000 yards Bowe 1000 yards Cassel 2600 yards. Running backs have 1200 yards receiving.
