Who's Missing Out on the Playoffs?
Okay sports fans, it's time for a quick preseason bet before the action starts tonight. Some of you meat gazers have chimed in on this already but lets give it one more go so the picks are better documented. This bet started as a drunken argument in one of Boston’s more douchetastic bars. “I’ll bet you $100 you can’t pick 6 NFL teams that won’t make the playoffs.” It’s a legit bet given the NFL lauds itself on its parody.
Since we’re all just fake friends around here and there is little chance of one ever collecting from another (except you Shuffle, my boy Sanchez is about to ball and I will hunt you down for what’s mine), we won’t actually be betting on this. That said lets take it a step further and pick 7 teams that won’t make the playoffs. Winner takes nothing.
Who are your 7 teams missing the playoffs?

Aint got a beach and I see no mountains, landlocked loungin' in the City of Fountains.
Cincy is the only team on that list I would question
Think they might have a decent year. Probably not playoffs, but decent.

in something like this I wouldn't pick 3 teams fromt he same division
anything can happen with a team…so if Rivers goes down with an injury or somethin, then one of the other 3 will have a much better chance
San Diego with Billy Volek > Chiefs, Raiders, Broncos
And so, Craig finds himself leaping from blog to blog, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home.

Follow the fucking rules.
Aint got a beach and I see no mountains, landlocked loungin' in the City of Fountains.
Why?
With some of the teams out there, picking 7 is too easy. Why not make a bold prediction that spurs debate rather than just a list of losers that even Whitlock could put together??

This is tough!
Raiders
Broncos
Rams
Lions
Browns
Chiefs
Bucs
You guys are picking all easy ones.
What about the cowboys? or the Jags? I’m gonna make mine a little more ballsy since noones collecting on this anyway.
Cowboys
Jaguars
Ravens
Texans
Dolphins
Bengals
Bucs
BTW: You should NEVER count the Chiefs out. What kind of self respecting homer counts out his own team?
nice work, 1970!
* "I doubt anyone will miss Connor Barth except UCrawford"
* the LB corps may become the biggest strength of the Chiefs in 2009
* The OL is NOT as bad as you think it is... give it time, and you'll see improvement this season
Nice slip of the tongue there
NFL lauds itself on its parody
I assume you meant to say “parity”.
Also can you perhaps be a little more specific when you say “one of Boston’s more douchetastic bars”? That doesn’t really narrow it down much.
Blame my wife!
Waiting until August!
Good catch, I'll leave the error for its wabi-sabi characteristics
As far as which douchetastic bar, lets just say it wasn’t Publick House

two teams in that division will get in and it will be two of these three
Packers 33% chance
Vikes 33% chance
Bears 33% chance
I think the Bears COULD win that division outright but, I am pretty sure there will be a wildcard from that division as well.

Hoping they flame out with cutler there
and figured I’d be a little different than everyone else. But ya I have a feeling they won’t make it. Might just be the fact that I really dislike Cutler.
I understand!
i was really torn watching that game between Chicago and Denver because I couldn’t decide who I hate worse, Cutler, or the Donkeys. i have always kind of liked Da Bears so I rooted for Chicago but, it WAS painful at times.
Cutler such an emo pussy…I really can’t stand him.

Steelers

Patriots
Chargers
Colts
Vikings
Cardinals
Panthers
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
p.s.
If this happened i would genuinely die of shock

Me too. I see a couple that may not make it...The Chargers for one.

Kinda fun to look at that list
And imagine which one not making it
Before you judge a man, walk a mile in his shoes; after that, who cares?! He's a mile away and you've got his shoes!
After watching last nights game
Steelers and Titans both belong on this list
Negative Ghost Rider the pattern is full...
Here's my question
Between the Bears, Packers, and Vikings (all same division), which one of THOSE teams don’t make it to the playoffs?
Anyway, I’m gonna get risky and say:
Miami Dolphins
Buffalo Bills
Tennessee Titans
Dallas Cowboys
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Arizona Cardinals
Minnesota Vikings
Epic fail.

Vikings
Favre will tail off towards the end of the season.
The wife and I were discussing this and postulated there is probably a clause in Brett’s contract that says if the doctors list him as fit, he gets to start the game. This equals Vikings post season fail.
Blame my wife!
Waiting until August!
Nice Vince
I would agree on Vikings as the one left out.
They have so totally blown up the QB position

But to add
With the NFC East playing the AFC West it is quite possible that only one NFC North team gets in the playoffs

-Raiders
-Rams
-Lions
-Broncos
Then, I say…
-Redskins
And my surprise picks (or maybe not a surprise)
-Cowboys
-Colts
I dont want to put KC on the list and bring all the bad vibes and negative energy…

Can't Pick Chiefs...
It goes against everything I believe in. However, I do believe some of the mighty will fal this season. Mine are…
Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Tennessee, Miami, Atlanta, Detroit, and Washington.
Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce
FALL..
shit! Can’t type too well today. Getting stoked for NFL kickoff. Yeah, it’s not the Chiefs, but it’s the beginning of a brand new season…
