Chiefs Vs Raiders - Madden NFL 10 Video

From the FanPosts.  The release date is this Friday, August 14th.  -Joel

Watch our Chiefs beat up on the hated Raiders in Madden NFL 10!

Some observations from the video:

I like how they have implemented our new 3-4 defense.  Larry Johnson looks like he will be decent in the game.  It doesn't give you a very good look at Haley so I am not sure if he looks accurate but Cable looks just like he does in real life.

Madden being madden

Derrick Burgess tackle LJ but he’s already shipped to New England.

Barth is doing kickoffs when I wanna see what Succop’s rating and ability would be.

All in all, a great video. Anytime I get to see Faders getting crush my the red& gold – a great watch!

Predictions as of 06.24.2009.

Larry Johnson will be a top 3 fantasy pick once again in 2010 (after a monster season in 2009.)
Dwayne Bowe will be a 2009 Pro Bowl selection.
Brandon Flowers will have at least 6 INTs in 2009 season.
Todd Haley will have a sideline shouting match caught on TV yelling at one of his asst. coaches.

Can you supply the depth chart? At least for WR? I think there will be updates for the roster and stuff right?

Speed

I think this video has the game speed updated a little bit, because this was much faster than the demo they released. That might account for the pretty quick looking LJ and Cottam.

You can adjust the speed between normal madden speed and realistic

also, if you have Xbox live or can connect to the internet with your playstation, it will automatically update the rosters everytime you log on under your live account. They usually don’t get the depth charts right, though.

Observations

The graphics package looks a lot sharper but I’m not all that sure about gameplay. There’s no way a defensive back of Flowers’ caliber sitting entirely by himself in the open field misses a tipped pass that hangs in the air for five seconds like Flowers did in the game. In Madden 09 the DB picks that pass off easily, as he should (because it’s what happens in real life). Looks like they upped the interception difficulty to a ridiculous level. The tackling engine looks about the same…primarily solo tackles, still haven’t incorporated gang tackling like NFL2K5. The linemen appeared to do a better job of fighting through the blocks, which is good because defensive ends in Madden 09 were rarely a factor (I got Jared Allen back for the Chiefs and he’d get 3-4 sacks per year, whereas the DTs would get 10…LTs blocked like they were all Orlando Pace in his prime). The offensive playcalls looked much more varied than last year, which is good (since there was a decided lack of flavor) and I hear they incorporated the Wildcat this year. Defensive playcalling looked as bland as ever, which is disappointing. Think I’ll probably pass on getting Madden this year…same with NCAA Football 10.

Predictions for 2009

1. Todd Haley's going to struggle with managing his staff in his rookie year as head coach.
2. The Lions will draft Matt Stafford, the Rams will draft Jason Smith, and the Chiefs will draft either Aaron Curry or Eugene Monroe.
3. Maurice Carthon will be the most hated man on the Chiefs' coaching staff within two years.
4. Larry Johnson has already played his last meaningful game for the Kansas City Chiefs. He's gone before the 2009 season starts.
5. Larry Johnson will gain 0 yards rushing for the 2009 Kansas City Chiefs.
6. The Chiefs will go 7-9 in 2009, good for 2nd in the AFC West.
7. Ryan Succop will not perform better in 2009 than Connor Barth did in 2008.

And they’re always tweeting about updating the rosters.

I don't think flowers dropped it because his rating is low

he dropped it because the person playing in that video sucked. He tried to manually catch the ball and timed it wrong. His playcalling was horrible as well.

I Thought His Playcalling Was Good Outside The Red Zone

It was positively Hermish inside, though.

the difference is

they weren’t using arrowspread and they still managed to get into the end zone. not quite herm-like.

There is gang tackling

at least in my demo it happens. I never played 2k5 so I don’t know if it is like it or not.

I agree Flowers should have had that pick no problem…not a game breaker for me though.

The new blocking and more realistic pocket really improved things in my eyes.

The Pocket Does Look Improved

Last year the tackle play for the user was terrible. Not to mention that it was almost impossible for your o-line to get any pancake blocks without doing lead blocking. And without coming close to leading the league in pancake blocks at your position, you’d never get your guys in the Pro Bowl, plus they’d have trouble advancing.

Pocket

is nice. You don’t need to drop back as much and it collapses around you. There also seem to be more chances to run with the QB if there is no one open and I have never really been able to do that in Madden before.

Also I think the slower games speed makes it a little easier to run the ball. I can’t run to save my life in 09.

2K5 is still the best football game I've played

The graphics, the gameplay, the true broadcast-style presentation, realistic scores and stats – that was a tremendous game. It was strong enough to scare EA into buying their exclusive NFL license. What a huge disappointment that was, to find out that the best football game ever made was also the last NFL game 2K sports would make.
