Chiefs camp buzz - Kansas City Star

The Chiefs had only 10 sacks all of last season but got more than halfway there in the scrimmage alone. Derrick Johnson, Glenn Dorsey, Tamba Hali, Andy Studebaker, Ron Edwards and Turk McBride all would have put the passer on the ground had contact with the quarterback been allowed. McBride also forced a couple of hurried throws.

Previous seasons, the dominance of the D revolved around keeping all 4 starters healthy on d-line.

Chester gets a hang-nail. D falters.

Williams throws a tantrum. D struggles.

What’s encouraging is they’re getting pressure by scheme and the scheme is going to work in-depth, with the way they’ve built the front 7.

I’m with stag, though, on questioning how much of this is just the same-old same-old from the o-line, which still appears to be shaky. Still no BIG moves on the o-line. Maybe small moves, better coaching, and more blocking from TE will have ‘em on the up-tick, but is improved the same as being competitive? Jury’s out.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.
