KC Management working hard with LJ
It really appears that the Chiefs Management team is working hard at keeping LJ happy. For what it's worth, he's been a happy "camper" thus far. I'm sure Carthon (RB coach has a lot to do with any of LJ's mental successes). If LJ can lead this team, Cassel will be able to do his part without the D in his face.
Case in point:
After practice had ended, Todd pulled Larry Johnson to the side to personally introduce his starting running back to his parents. All four seemed engaged in conversation and were smiling and laughing for about five minutes before Johnson excused himself and stepped away to take questions from the press.
It will go a long way if Waters and LJ can go along with the other veterans that were brought it. As Pioli said, this is year 1 of the Patriots.
Long way to go boys!

Don’t Let UC see that… :)

It’s really too bad I am garbage with computers… it will come with time I guess. For those who are confused,

Ummm
It’s still not a complete sentence, considering the usage of parentheses.
Once, I urinated a whole hotdog.

When LJ is motivated and healthy he is still one of the top 5 RB in the league.
Let’s hope we have both this year. The best thing for Cassela and this offense is to have a good running game. The rest will take care of itself.

He was tops when the o-line was tops.
Vermeil put together a hell of an o-line. If the o-line gets it together and Cassel brings some balance in terms of the passing game, LJ will be successful.
I like LJ, but RB is usually pretty far down on my list of priorities. Too many guys with ball skills (some better than LJ’s) who can run, block and catch. To me, LJ’s main asset has been his toughness and balance, which are both quite rare, but come 2nd to getting the other 10 positions in order.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Wow
you got a link for the above story? I haven’t read that anywhere but providing thats true, I think its a solid indication Larry will be our feature back. For some reason I can’t see Todd introducing many people to his folks and the fact he may have done so really surprises me. He seems like a hardass to the core but hopefully there’s a softer inside there that allows him to connect with his players after they earn his respect by busting their asses

LJ had said he felt like he and Haley (and Carthon) were bonding
And I think this is some absolute proof of it. There wasn’t talk of any other introductions. This came from the UWRF post yesterday afternoon, and here is the entire paragraph it came from:
Head Coach Todd Haley was graced by the presence of his parents today at the afternoon practice. Dick and Carolyn Haley watched proudly from the sidelines as their son directed the team. Dick was hired as a player personnel analyst for the Miami Dolphins last year. Dick has been working in the NFL since 1971 and was in charge of the Pittsburgh Steeler’s draft when they selected four future Hall of Famers in the 1974 Draft. It is often considered one of the greatest drafts by a single team in NFL history. Those four would lead the Steelers to four Super Bowl titles by the end of the decade. After practice had ended, Todd pulled Larry Johnson to the side to personally introduce his starting running back to his parents. All four seemed engaged in conversation and were smiling and laughing for about five minutes before Johnson excused himself and stepped away to take questions from the press.I think it is also significant that he introduced then to his “starting running back” since that makes it sound like maybe one position battle has been won. I don’t know if that was how Haley introduced him or if that is how the writer recorded it, but he has shied away from calling anyone ones or twos. But this afternoon in scrimmage he did say it would be the ones vs the twos.
Chiefs go 9-7. LJ makes 1400 yards. DBowe makes 1200 yards. Defense #18.

Larry will become franchise leading rusher
in some ways you could argue things couldn’t have gone any better for him this off-season and the changes that have been made. He’s got all new support on every front (QB, RG, RB coach, HC & GM). We all should have known that in the school of Parcells your past doesnt matter just as long as you know your role and can still bring it on the field. Look at my main man Sticky Ricky in Miami. If you buy in, play ball, and succeed you will stay in their good graces. I bet at the round table Papa Parcells is envious of Scotty boy because he inherited a lot more raw and younger talent than the old man ever did (sans NYG). Year 1 is right and this is gonna be like watching a masterpiece be put together.

Agree
One thing I heard Kendall Gammon say in his interview was that LJ needed a change of scenery, but he didn’t have to go anywhere for it. The change came to him. I think he has really embraced the changes and sees a chance to do more than just make money here…a chance to win.

yeah
not an LJ fan, however he looks like he may just break out…First year I actually nabbed him in fantasy football…round 6 well worth it…
I will say though that we cant pass on first/second down if he cant pick up the blitz, especially if teams decide to keep blitzing our weak right side.(unless taylor takes the job.)

He's working extensively on blitz pickups
and he should be a little quicker than before. In addition, Sean Ryan, at least, will bring more substantial blocking to the right side.
At this moment, I’m more worried about pass rush right up the gut. I’d like to say that the signs we’re seeing are all about Tank Tyler playing great, but I’m not hearing great things about C. Niswanger is pretty tall for a C, and appears to be struggling against quick power moves from Tyler. Expect to see some shuffling on the o-front, before all is said and done. I’m kinda worried that they don’t seem to be really set, and it will take time for the starting 5 to develop chemistry. De La Puente is getting some notice at C.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.
