My name is Heather, and I'm an APaholic.....
So I just realized that as we are so super close to the preseason start, and in the heart of camps this week, I have not gotten any work done. I've been at work, at my desk, attempting ever-so-scrupulously to seem busy. I am busy, quite busy in fact...surfing the AP blogs and my Facebook looking for my fellow KC fans to post something.
I dont' quite remember another season in which I have been so consumed and addicted to everything Chiefs.
I am quite in love with each of you! Thank you for keeping me up to speed, informed and incredibly entertained........
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

Yep, I'm gonna' be there tomorrow.
Can’t wait. It sounds like it’s going to be alot different than Herm’s Family Fun Day!

So I’ve only seen Herm’s camps. This year is completely different. So much more energy!

I read AP and I watched the Chiefs @ Rams game from the Huard season. LJ went off on those guys. Ran over 160 I think.

So you pretty much summed up my work day today also...
I have been a Chiefs fan since I can remember, but I also have never been involved this much in the entire season especially the offseason. I think it is awesome how AP shows up first on Google for some of the Chiefs news…only 8 days till pre-season game 1 which I will be at and if not I will be at the Seattle game.
And I don’t care if they count, I get to go to Arrowhead so that is all that matters.
Go Chiefs!
and

Everybody Together Now...
Welcome Heather. Hi Heather, I’m kcchiefsfan72, and I too am an AP-a-holic. I’ve been addicted for several months now and for the life of me, just can’t seem to get my fix no matter how much I’m on here. I, like brother Patrick, pound the F5 key throughout the day hoping for the latest tidbit of Chiefs information to temporarily satisfy my fix. My addiction has consumed me and frankly, I don’t want any help.
Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce
haha
me either…I like my addiction!!

I first came to AP thru CNN Sports Page. Headlines always linked back to this page and the comments section always made me laugh. After enough wallflowering I joined in and next thing I knew I was AP’s honorary #1 homer.

Hi Heather
I’m Zodeman, and I’ve been on AP for several months now. I’m afraid this may be a consuming disease that will not even begin to abate until sometime in mid winter. My only hope is that when they actually take the field and start playing games that I will be sated somewhat for a few hours a week. That is the only time I may be able to focus on something other than AP. Other than that, my AP addition will be the focus of consciousness. And I don’t care.
Chiefs go 9-7. LJ makes 1400 yards. DBowe makes 1200 yards. Defense #18.
mid winter sucked me in

Hi Heather, Im BigRedChief.....
….I have been adiicted to AP for several months now and am a life long Chiefs fan. I consider myself a logical man and AP manages to keep me in check however I have been known to go on Chief-binges and well I guess I inject some of the Kool-aid directly into my veins but you know what? Everything is going to be okay. Because I’m good enough, smart enough and doggonit people like me.

Dammit!
I wish I could get my wife to be more excited about the season. She enjoys football, but she isn’t a true fan. She likes freaking “Dancing with the Stars” and other crap like that. You rock Heather! Have fun at Arrowhead. I’ve only been able to go once, to the Colts playoff game after the ‘03 season. Awesome game (even though it turned out the way it did) and one of the best experiences ever! I only got to go because I was stationed in Oklahoma, and I’m all the way over in Nevada now. As soon as it is affordable, I’m going back.
I hear ya buddy....
….my wife likes football because I like football. She doesn’t NEED football like I NEED football. But bless her heart she likes to try and that is a great thing. I want a jersey cause I want to rock support for my favorite player, she wants a jersey cause she can “tie it up into a cut bun thinggy” and show of her stomach, totally hot though. She watches games with me (even when I watch some crappy community college team cause well its football) and she loves to drink beer so I got that going. I just have to understand that she will never have the passion we do but that cool not alot of people do.
Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.
want me to talk to her? lol
I need to find me a man that’s a passionate about football as I am. You would think it wouldn’t be that hard….it is. It really is…..lol

Well since this seems to be
a meet and greet session of all us Addicted AP’ers.
So HI to Heather and everyone else who has commented on this page. I am Petey..I’ve been apart of AP since June. I used to search and search for things and always ended up getting information from here. I thought this was just another blog full of opinions and rumors, but the more I looked at the site, I realized that it is factual and most of everything you find reverts back to its original source. There was alot of good comments and got me hooked.
AP is run very well, and thats only right considering we have one of the most (if not the most..) loyal and supportive fan bases in the entire NFL. Joel does an excellent job of posting updates..I get on every morning and see something new posted at 7am by him. Much Appreciated.
We’ve seen good times and bad times and always came back for more. raises glass Heres to the new regime, and the future..of the Kansas City Chiefs!
BTW…I dont want to cure my addiction either..:-)
In California too
Do you go the Chargers Chiefs game in SD? Everytime I go to the Chargers.Chiefs game, I see enough red & gold in the stands and was wondering WHERE DID ALL THESE CHIEFS FANS come from? Just wondering if you were part of some of the Chiefs groups out here in CA.
Predictions as of 06.24.2009.
Larry Johnson will be a top 3 fantasy pick once again in 2010 (after a monster season in 2009.)
Dwayne Bowe will be a 2009 Pro Bowl selection.
Brandon Flowers will have at least 6 INTs in 2009 season.
Todd Haley will have a sideline shouting match caught on TV yelling at one of his asst. coaches.

Welcome Heather
I’m TXCHIEFAN. I love the CHIEFS, and love all the news, entertainment, comment, and excellent information that AP provides. Thanks to all for your committment. I’ve been here for a couple of years, but haven’t commented much over the past few months. I read everything AP has for us, but have stayed out of the debates. Thanks for bringing me back in.
Here we go boys and girls. This season is going to be one of the great ones and one to talk about for decades to come. GO CHIEFS!
Ok since she's a Lady, I'll introduce myself
Heather, I am Lanier63, been a Chiefs fan since my Daddy introduced me to them in 1964.
My sad but true story, again
After my scholastic crowning-achievement of being voted “Most Likely to Become a Fugitive”, I utilized my “world-class, collegiate-preparatory, Christian private education” to its full potential by bouncing around the circuit as a rodeo clown. Ultimately too large to fit hinto the barrel, I suffered a rather serious “workplace-related mishap” (severe blunt-force trauma to the posterior and subdural hematoma…sorry, too much CSI). After recovery, I took a non-accredited correspondence course in “shoe cobbling”; only to discover that everything in our credit-based consumptive economy was now “disposable” (including high-quality men’s & women’s dress shoes).
Ditching my non-refundable cobbler’s tools, I hired-on as a “roadie” for the “Starland Vocal Band”. Although counter to my Christian upbringing, I saw no problem in working for a band that glorified intercourse in broad daylight…as long as it didn’t lead to dancing. (Ironic, considering my frame of reference in school was that “teacher/student relations” were “within the norm”). Anyway, I was unaware that the lead singers were in the midst of a very nasty divorce; the result, no doubt, of their daylight shenanigans and doing the devil’s work through “bubble gum pop” bile. However, I digress; the first rule of fight club is never talk about fight club.
Known as “Mr. Burnt Sienna” (because no one wants to be “Mr. Pink”), I was then employed as a “contractor” for a large, family-operated business; the only work available for someone with no appreciable skills and a lot of “anger issues”.
After faking my own death, I then managed to get another roadie gig with the band “Paper Lace”; too naive to know that a group can only go so far with a Top Ten pop song about the “Prohibition Era”.
I moved to Roswell, New Mexico next, and started a jeep tour of the famous UFO crash site. I often have nightmares that I’m trapped in the gym watching a never-ending “Junior Miss” pageant. I was eventually cleared as a suspect of being the Unabomber. (The federal authorities said that it was impossible for me to have written the “Manifesto” due to my obsessive use of parenthetical asides (like right here) and “quotation marks” (like right “here”).) The feds were also quick to point-out that my “lame” non sequiturs would only be clever to someone with “A.D.D. and a significant amount of psychological damage”. A note to the home do-it-yourselfers: NEVER buy agricultural-grade ammonium nitrate, PVC pipes and an alarm clock, at the same time with a credit card.
Beginning to think my life was a perpetual Gordon Lightfoot “maritime disaster” song, I pursued an idea I had been thinking about for a few years: starting a new music genre; the fusion of “gangsta rap” and “jug band”…a new kind of music that captures the flavor of a Georgia canoe trip “gone horribly wrong” with the rich, “Afro-centric” culture that our nation so eagerly embraces. Tupac Shakir meets Grandpa Jones. Hee Haw on crack. After leaving a nearby “healthcare facility”, I bought a small recording studio in Bolivar, Tennessee and started my own label – Def Bubbaz Records. I also started my own group, “Dem Boyz 2 Phat”, where I rap under my street name, “Chunk E. Salsa”. (The vernacular becomes more tolerable with Wellbutrin). Some of our more popular songs include, “Mustard Green Blunts”; “Jimmy Smokes Crack (And I Don’t Care)”; “Cold Biscuits Again (I’ll Pop a Cap in You)”; “Ellie Mae B Fine (The New Ballad of Jed Clampett)”; “D.O.A. in Hickree Hilz”; “Homey, Does Yo ‘Pit’ Bite (No Playa No)”; “My Baby’s Momma’s Aunt’s Baby’s Baby (The Martha White Theme)”; “Foggy Mountain Breakin’ & Enterin’”; “There’s a Hole in My Abdomen (Dear Laniqua)”; and, “The Pina Colada Song(Dance Remix)”.
Life has certainly come full circle (or as “The No Children Left Behind” would say, 180 degrees). I’ve gone from being the poster boy for “Teenage Wasteland” (or as Elton John so eloquently put it, “a juvenile product of the working class”) to morphing, much to my complete and utter dismay, into my father (except for the ability to fix stuff)…one imperceptible increment at a time.
It seems that my “world-class, collegiate-preparatory, Christian private education” has reached its logical conclusion: the creation and nurturing of an anger-based gangsta-rapping rodeo clown. No, I didn’t get much out of school; simply because I didn’t put anything into it. If I had it to do all over again, I’d do things much, much different: I would learn just enough so I could solve crimes with math. Nevertheless, always in a state of unrepentant denial, I still fancy myself an irrepressible bohemian; an avant-garde; a misunderstood “enfant terrible”…as opposed to what most insist: “an idiot minus a village”. What a long, strange trip it’s been.
So thats how I came up with the name Lanier63. :)

No really. Not me. I can leave it at any time. I just don’t want to. I mean, I can. Really. But, you know, …I can quit at anytime.
I mean I love the Chiefs, but come on…I’m not “addicted”.
What do you mean by addicted?
As Q's agent, I would like to reaffirm that he is not addicted.
He, nor any of us, can be addicted to something that is a necessity for life to exist.
As far as my client’s statements about him being able to “leave it at any time,” He was misquoted by himself, and obviously meant to say, “I cannot leave it at anytime, nor should such a thing ever be contemplated, as the mere thought of living without AP weakens the will to live.”

Hello, my self imposed boycott of the Herm era has been lifted and I feel great about the new regime. AP is indeed addictive and is there really anything wrong with that? No. Right?
I cannot wait to see the new regime team in action. I so far love everything I see, read, hear about the Chiefs, Haley, and Pioli. I was still maintaining quite a bit of scepticism about this year – too many holes to fill in too short a time. But, the apparent attitudinal adjustment in LJ is really making my confidence grow. Hopefully reading AP doesn’t breed overconfidence since there is a lot of enthusiasm on this great site!
I may be relocating to SD if things work out and get myself back inside the borders of the AFC West!
Hopes fade once again from blue to red. Go New Chiefs!!

I don't know...
I don’t remember why I became a Chiefs fan (I previously posted something about the reason more likely being something girly like, I liked their helmets….) I just remember falling in love with them in high school. And the fact that my dad was a Raiders fan & I hated them….I remember watching the Chiefs play once & actually give a hand to the other team helping them up after a tackle….that really stuck in my mind I think.
