Around SBN: Randy Moss A Raven?

New Denver Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton didn't get the warm welcome he anticipated when he made his unofficial debut at Invesco Field on Thursday night.

Orton was booed by the crowd of 13,402 — the largest crowd ever to watch a Broncos practice — when he was picked off twice by free agent cornerback Andre' Goodman, the second of which was returned for a long touchdown.

It really does just keep getting better and better.

I've been rapping for about seveteen years okay? I don't write my stuff anymore I just kick it from my head you know what I'm sayin? I can do that. No disrespect but that's how I am.

Better & Better

Everyday the news out of Denver keeps getting better and better. Thank YOU!!!

You are what your record says you are!

That is pretty cold…what a bunch of d-bags. Should I be surprised?

by augmental on Aug 6, 2009 10:15 PM CDT reply actions

That's how Denver rolls

The fans don’t give a f**k about the team or showing any kind of support, unless they win, then maybe they will actually cheer. Until Kyle Orton wins a game in Denver, they will hate him.

They're a lot like Philly fans.

They know their football, follow it passionately. And they don’t put a happy face on things when they don’t like what they’re seein’.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Let that be a lesson

to every would-be coordinator who thinks he’s ready to be a head coach. Nothin’ more deserving than a heaping helping of good’ol humble pie for everyone who had a part in tearing that proud franchise down. I feel for the Broncos fans.

Maybe it's just me?

I kinda’ have to feel sorry for Orton. He seems like a decent guy. But he got thrust into a bad, bad situation. Booing the guy in practice? What will it be like when he blows one in front of a packed stadium? Poor bastard doesn’t have a chance.

by Scott B. on Aug 6, 2009 10:25 PM CDT reply actions

Orton’s not the reason Denver lost Cutler, McDaniels is, boo that P.O.S. I feel bad for Orton, he didn’t ask to be in Denver with a nutcase at the helm.

It’s gotta be as bad as being traded to the raiders

Wow.

Dang. So, first Khalif Barnes is out. Now B-Dawk is, too? It’s almost like God is a Chiefs fan.

Almost? Of course she’s a Chiefs fan.

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

From MHR commenter Bustafluff on Broncos' practice today
i’m glad i’m not the only person a little rattled by what I saw tonight. Tonight was the first time I’d ever gone to a team practice before. But, I have to be honest and say my optimism about this upcoming season has decreased from what I saw tonight. I’m interested in what others have to say, but I was less than impressed. Stokley made some great catches out there and Hillis looked good, but neither Orton or Simms looked very good tonight.

Wow

I’d say that McDaniels might be a one-year-wonder in Denver. That scene gets worse every day.

first off

i hate that cutler is looked at like a God, his numbers were sub par last year with marshall being a flat out beast…..regardless

Old Neck Beard is not going to be able to do much more than manage the offense if they expect him to throw for 4k yards….they are mistaken.

Gotta love the denver offseason, it beats the 49er game that sent us to the playoffs…(in denver..heh heh heh)

Arrowhead Pride rules

So i read all the new post and updates here this evening ,and so i thought hmmm,i wonder what the other teams in our division site is like so i went looking……… They all blow compared to this site.
But the funny thing is, I actually chuckled, when i got to the denver site.It seems to me that the anger, misery, and self loathing it takes to be a denver donkey fan these days, they were all bitching and moaning.Gotta love it. Then i see this post.

You should check out the Chiefs Website Arrowhead Pride, They are talking Mad shit about you Bronco Fans!!! Primetime 07, DThomasReigns, Chris, Jux! They are all a bunch of queers, makes it hard to like KC?

i'm so glad the loathing is finally behind us.

this is the most optimistic i’ve seen chiefs fans in a LONG time and that’s saying a lot because Chiefs fans have been pretty pessimistic recently.

Mile High Report

MHR actually has several upright and astute contributors over there. But at the moment, it’s certainly a long fall from last year’s crazy days when they were all euphoric in “lala land.” Haven’t checked the Bronco coach approval poll, but I’m just guessin’ the ratio of yes to no is not 800 to 8 like it is for Haley right now. Switch those numbers around, perhaps?

From the way things are sounding.....

Dr. Seuss is not the one who should write a book about the donkeys this year. Maybe it should Grimm.

Off Topic

But on NFL.com, the fatasy rankings for TE have Tony G at #3. I know its not KC’s business anymore but don’t you think he would be a #1 fatasy TE? Especially since the Falcons just lost another WR and since Matt Ryan would throw to a future HOF all the time….?

BTW, Bummer for Orton. I say, In the division, 1.Chiefs/Chargers (Will be close) 3. Raiders 4. Broncos. Sucks to be a bronco fan…and always sucks to be a Raiders fan haha.

That’s how I see our division this season. Haley is big on winning division games so I think we will sweep both the Raiders and Donkeys. We could sweep the Chargers but at worst we’ll split it. I like our chances more everyday this offseason.

wow...

MHR guys are all over the place.

Was AP like that in the midst of our awesome 2-14 run?

I fully expect some kool-aid drinking at hints of change for the good and bitterness when things run afoul… but man, its rough over there with the in-fighting and name-calling.

Another reason why AP rules. H/T to our moderators boys!

You have to love this McDaniels quote
I learned a long time ago that as a head coach, you never have a good practice when you practice offense versus defense, because somebody is always going to make a good play, and then the other side is on the other end of it.

Oh really, you learned it “a long time ago”? How long have you been a head coach?

you never have a good practice when you practice offense versus defense

I guess he thinks that Orton and the offense might look better if there were no defenders on the field =)

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

by PVChiefsfan on Aug 7, 2009 6:49 AM CDT reply actions

You know ...

I learned a long time ago that, as a head coach, you should probably have the offense practice against the defense, because somebody is always going to field one against you, and then you know how to recover and regroup after a big play doesn’t go your way.

Hire me, Denver!

by JacinB on Aug 7, 2009 8:38 AM CDT up reply actions

Its simple~

If they would of kept what held that DONKEY team together for all them years they wouldnt of had this problem(s)!~

If they would of been kind to the GLUE that kept that pile of matchsticks together, they wouldnt have this problem(s)

I hate the GLUE, but I have to give props~ where props is due!

SHANA RAT was the GLUE, now lets sit back and watch them matchsticks fall all over the place! such a pretty sight! Matchstick here, Matchstick there!

DAMN glue!
