Arrowheads
When I first heard of guys earning their Kansas city Chiefs, Arrowheads, I thought it was a good idea. Give players something to strive for and when players started getting them it might light a fire under the others, they would think, Oh the team is starting to fill up I better do something more to prove myself.
With the cut down almost here, and still nobody has earned one for sure. Yes a couple of times we thought someone did but so far no. What I thought was a great motivational tactic that created a lot of buzz around here on who we thought would be the first ones to get the arrowhead, has turned into nothing. It's to the point now that the motivation it would had created is lost.
My thoughts were maybe after the first preseason game we would have seen some. No matter what Haley has said we all know that certain players already have the starting jobs. Matt Cassel,Branden Albert,Mike Vrabel and more. There are also some FA that have been very impressive in camp and preseason. So why not give the arrowheads to the some of the players we know will be the starters and throw in 1 or 2 of the free agents that have stood out and proved themselves, to show the other free agents that everyone does have a chance to make this team and they need to step up. But the time for this has gone, either we read too much into the arrowhead or Haley still doesn't think anyone on this team has earned it.
This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Arrowhead Pride's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Arrowhead Pride writers or editors.

I see your point, but...
I think in his mind if he gives someone an Arrowhead that might make the guys behind him ease up a bit. If by not giving Cassel an arrowhead yet it has made the other QBs play the slightest bit harder then it is working.
The Good: Hiring Pioli and Haley, Drafting Tyson Jackson
The Bad: The Offensive Line Play
The Ugly: Thigpen Trying to Play QB
I don't think so about the QB's
Except for a few die hard Croyle and Thigpen fans, everyone knew Cassel was here to be the starter. If Croyle or Thigpen even thought they had a chance then they need to be let go because QB’s need to be smart. Well I guess there was a slight chance but that QB would have too of played almost perfect and Cassel would have to be very bad.
Herm is gone things are better with that one move!!

Did you ever watch the real life recreation drama about our US hockey team beating Russia?
There have been several coaches who were so inspirational that movie’s have been made in their honor.
Some things they have in common with Haley are:
a) Discipline – Discipline rules at all times..on and off the field…self discipline.
b) Team First Individual Second.
In the movie about our soccer team…when the coach asked “who are you”? it took awhile before one of them said “A member of the U.S. Hockey Team”. That was the moment their coach knew they “got it”.
I believe when your team is 6-26 and has a loser mentality you have to level the house and rebuild it. You salvage what you can and re-use it obviously. But you still level the SOB and start over. I think the Arrowheads are all part of that start from scratch mentality he’s instilling in our players.
I think the Arrowhead decal is symbolic of having the desire to fight for the honor and priviliege to be called a “Kansas City Chief”. If anyone has been throug military boot camp you get what I mean..I’ts all part of the mind melt process…it will work!
