Tonight on NFL Network
Tonight at 8:00 pm on NFL Network Classic Games: from 11/11/90, Derrick Thomas sets an NFL record for the most sacks in a single game with 7. The bad news as we all know is that the Chiefs lose this game.

One of my favorite Chiefs teams
What a team: DT in his prime, Okoye, Deron Cherry, Saleamua, Neil Smith, Albert Lewis, Stephone Page, Dino Hackett, Emile Harry, Alt, Szott, Grunhard, Todd McNair on third down… that team was loaded, They should’ve done better, but they’re an underrated team. They were up 16-3 at Miami in the playoff game, but somehow lost. That was a brutal, painful playoff loss, one of many.
DeBerg at QB was sort of a weak link, but he really wasn’t bad, he was a cagey vet who was good enough to win, especially when Okoye was rolling.
I’m watching the game now, Thomas went out with a knee injury at the start of the 4th quarter, then comes back in and gets FOUR sacks in the fourth quarter. DT could not be blocked in the 4th quarter. Seattle was trying to tackle him, and hey still couldn’t stop him.
Look who else is out there for us, Mike Webster, Mike Bell, Jayice Pearson…
Of course, the Chiefs found a way to lose the game anyway, an omen of what would happen in the playoffs. That playoff loss is still painful, that team deserved better. They were just a few plays away, and had the talent to make them, but just didn’t get it done.

That was a heartbreaker
DT had David Krieg in the grasp for the 8th sack, when Krieg threw the game winning touchdown.
Too bad “grasp and control” wasn’t the rule that year!
Negative Ghost Rider the pattern is full...
