Chiefs vs. AFC west...
My opinion on how the Chiefs will do against division rivals.
**Raiders** This will be our easiest 2 games of the year. Especially the home opener. However I see us giving up some "deep" balls and allowing some unneccessary points due to DHB and Jamarcus Russell. These will be some suprisingly high scoring games with the Chiefs coming out on top.
**Broncos** I think we are going to win one and lose one. I think we may lose the last game of the regular season against the Broncos because hopefully we will have clenched the division by then and will be conserving for post season play. Also I think that by then the Broncos will have cleared up their issues
**Chargers** Obvoiously our toughest rival currently. If Larry Johnson steps up his play and Cassel can get the ball in "Somewhere over Dwayne Bowe"s hands I think we stand a good chance.

Raiders are still the Raiders, Broncos continue their ride down the shitter, Chragers have Norv Turner for HC. Chiefs go 6-0.

I think our division games give us the best chances for winning as things stand right now. However in week 6 it could be completely different

Agree
and glad it will be on our home turf. Fortunately for me, this is the 1 game of the year that I will actually be able to attend. I sure hope we’re in full stride when we face these dickheads. I want so badly to beat the Super Bowl chumps and silence the critics and pundits who continously downplay our boys…
Put this in your pipe and smoke it:
1. Chiefs will be at least 8-8 and vie for division champs
2. DJ will break out and finally have his year
3. LJ returns to form
4. DBowe drops will reduce

Carefull guys
Don’t overlook the Raiders. They have a great running attack and a pretty good defence featuring the best shutdown corner in the league. If we don’t get our running game going early, those might be tough battles.
And so, Craig finds himself leaping from blog to blog, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home.

I disagree
the Raiders have NO run defense. none. the talking heads on the radio and most fans are TERRIFIED of LJ and LT this year and they should be. i wouldn’t be shocked to see LJ have a 200 yard game against Oakland this year. Al didn’t do anything to address this. now, if he would have picked up Ellis and kept Burgess, they might have something, but no.
the raiders O-Line isn’t solid, the only real bright spot on that team is their TE Miller. if he makes those dump catches that Russell will always serve up, i think our LBs will have his number. D-Mac is great, but he can’t be the number 1 guy an entire game. if they try it, he’ll go down with an injury.
the one upside of living in Oakland, i get to see the beast dying from the inside out.

They don't need Run DMC to be an every down back (I prefer that knickname to D-Mac)
They still have Justin Fargas and Michael Bush (I think, correct me if I’m wrong). Its just irresponsible to say “They are the Raiders, they must suck” as they were one stupid faked field goal away from being 2-0 against us last year.
Look, I’m not saying they are Superbowl bound either, I’m just saying overlook them and they will punch you in the mouth.

Justin Fargas
name is constantly being brought up for trade, so is Bush. right now, Bush is running with the third team. McFadden, he’s going to their number one back, and they will find a way to break him and they still don’t have an honest left tackle.
it’s irresponsible to overlook ANY NFL team. any given sunday, ANY team can punch you in the mouth. but the raiders, they have a major wound and it will be exploited.
it’s hard to get your offense on the field when teams, even if they aren’t designed for it, can run successful smash mouth football against you. i mean, a rookie ran for 129 yards on 16 carries. against their first unit. i know it’s preseason, but that’s not good and it won’t get fixed by the time they get to arrowhead.
you’re right. last year was last year. if they would have focused on the trenches, i would agree they are dangerous. if they had BJ Raji, Ellis, and Burgess, i’d be nervous. but, instead they just have Ellis…and a really fast WR with bad hands. the Chiefs are a MUCH better team from last year. the Raiders are about the same, maybe worse on their D-Line.
plus, with coaching upheaval, what appears to be coaching solidarity in KC…i would be shocked if Oakland made it competitive, even with Garcia under center…my current home team is toast.

I think we'll beat the Broncos twice but split games with the Raiders.
The Raiders are probably better than advertised. It will be tough to stop their run game completely and they play pretty good defense. Russell sucks and I doubt their passing attack will be much to worry about but, I expect them to be pretty good by the time we travel to Oakland to play them.
San Diego could go either way. i think we can win at least one game against them but, we will have to earn whatever we get against them.

I agree as well
We all hate the Raiders so much that I think we fail to see that they could possibly give us a run for the money. They did beat us once last year too. Never underestimate the enemy..that’s my philosophy.

It feels good to be a Chiefs fan...
I’m not saying we are going to win the division this year, but we very well could. The most talented team is obviously San Diego. They have a solid left tackle, decent WRs, an amazing TE and two great RBs. Rivers just got a phat contract, but they are going to have a rough offseason with their left tackle, Sproles, Merriman and half of their WR core up for sale. I’m thinking they let Merriman go, which might lead him to the up and coming Chiefs so that he can get revenge against the team that dumped him. Next year we are going to see a seismic shift in the AFC West where the Chiefs will dominate for the next five years like Seattle did in the NFC West. I think we have the best coach, quarterback, and potential in our division.

I respect Merriman, but let's see how he performs at his age, coming off injury, THIS year.
I suspect he’s hit the wall, and the Chiefs are more likely to bring in a younger guy.
No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

Marley will be walking soon...she could probably play Linebacker better than some of the guys we had.

Hit the wall?
He is 25. The only concern with Merriman is the injury and I think the Chargers might let him go because they drafted Larry English in the 1st this year.

That, and the fact that no one knows how he’ll perform over an entire 16 game season without steroids…

who says he’ll stop? they never do. how often do they test?

I'd like to think that if you've been busted once
they probably test you occasionally…I’m not sure.
