Most Interesting Preseason Game of 09

Hey guys trying to get my post/shot-fu skills back.

Preseason-Typically boring games that hardly anyone watches.Well this year it has changed after all the crazy happenings in the NFL this year. You have stories such as Cassel to KC,Favre makes another comeback,Cutler traded to Chicago and yes Vick to the Eagles. So lets check these out after the jump.

Star-divide

Game 1: Chiefs Vs. Vikings: This game had headlines for a couple of different reasons. The biggest was being Favres first game back in the Nfl with his new team the Vikings. The other was can Cassel play to his potential after a so so start against the Texans. I would say the biggest story of the game ended up being Favre completing 1 pass for 4 yards against the Chiefs defense.Outcome Vikings win 17-13.

Game 2:Eagles Vs. Jaguars: Big story here is the return of Mike Vick. Too bad this one wasnt televised I was looking forward to seeing him back in action. Last I saw Vick been doing a little bit of everything tonight against the Jags. Currently the Eagles lead the Jags in this one 27-13.

Game 3:Bears Vs. Broncos:Jay Cutler the cry baby was traded to the Bears in the offseason and will be playing his first game against the Donkeys in his career. The game will be a Sunday night game and nationally televised. I think this will probably be the biggest game of the preseason. Im kind of torn on who I am going to root for in this one. A. Would love to see the Broncos get beat up and down the field. B.I would hate to see whiny a$$ get a win. We would never hear the end of him beating Denver with the way he runs his mouth.

Haha

You beat me to it!

And so, Craig finds himself leaping from blog to blog, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home.

Vick...

Yay, Favre is back – about a minute after seeing him come out in the purple jersey it wears off. Vick is going to be dangerous all season so thats what will really count.

Man

I thought he just looked plain stupid in purple…I like him but a Vikings uniform just looks dumb on him

Bears vs Donkeys

I almost wish I still lived in Denver so I could watch this one live. I can’t wait to see Cutler stick it to his former team.

Conventional wisdom, granted, but not really true:

The other was can Cassel play to his potential after a so so start against the Texans.

Cassel looked fine in both preseason games, to me.

I got this impression, but couldn’t put it into words. Here’s a shot at it:

When he was under pressure, it wasn’t like watching, say, Trent Green, where if a guy gets a hand on him, the odds of success evaporate. Watching Cassel, it’s more like it ain’t gonna be easy to drag him down, and if you don’t drag him down, he’s probably gonna hurt you. Kinda like Roethlisberger, if that makes sense. The word others throw around is “poise,” and it’s pretty apropos.

I think the Vikes game was when I pretty much stopped apologizing for Thiggy. Cassel’s as game as Thigpen, and more skilled.

No question. Otis Taylor should be in the Hall of Fame.

I agree Mills.

Cassel is gonna be great. I am stoked that we are going to have a QB we can hang our hat on and he is only going to get better. We might have a superstar in the making.

mills and 70

Cassel has Poise on the Field
maybe ala Montana, all flappy legs but seems to make a play.
and not to beat a dead horse but who would be a perfect understudy, without a 3rd rd pick, Thigpen.
Just an opinion from a noobie or as we were called in the AF “Pinger”
