That'll probably average out to about....
$25,000 per catch…lucky bastards.

Assuming he's still on the roster
This doesn’t become guaranteed unless he’s on the roster week one.

30 catches?
Let’s play a little over/ under.
I say under. 25.

I'll say 35 catches
Lelies average YPC is 17 (highest in the league) so I will say he is good for 595 yards this year.

Anyone know how this compares to the vet minimum for a guy like Lelie?
Just curious…

I believe this is the veteran minimum
by Joel Thorman on Aug 25, 2009 9:56 AM CDT up reply actions 0 recs
The 10 year veteran minimum is $845,000
So I’m taking a guess that this is the equivalent of the minimum for a 7 year guy like Lelie.

Found something interesting
Years played (as of) 2009
0…… ….$310,000
1…… ….$385,000
2…… ….$460,000
3…… ….$535,000
4-6……. $620,000
7-9…… .$745,000
10+…… $845,000
via Ask The Commish Salary Cap Faq page.
Seems like a damn fine site.
Anyway, that is the Veteran minimum salary for a 7 year player like Lelie. Glad they’re not overpaying like some previous powers would have…

Lelie's gonna make the final roster
I don’t even know why people question it

Because he's on his 5th team in 5 years.

If that wasn't such a good point
I’d argue it

So far, so good
It’s very early in the evaluation of Lelie as a Chief… but I’m going to say I’m cautiously optimistic.
He seems to have great hands, and can surely catch jump balls better than the rest of the Chiefs roster. Speed doesn’t seem to be a problem, nor is route running…
So far, so good. Maybe he can contribute. Maybe he doesn’t suck as much as I thought he did. Or maybe he’ll look good in practice and disappear like Darling in games.
For all the talk about the Chiefs WR corps being weak, and a huge problem… I think they may end up having a crowd… IF all the new veterans make the team, there may not be enough passes to go around… which I am FINE with.

Best receiving corps the Chiefs have had since I have been a fan.
Bowe, Bradley, Toomer, Lelie, Engram. (I know Engram may not make the team but still, that looks pretty good on paper to me.) The question is: If Engram gets cut, who will win the last spot? Darling? Rodney Wright??
What do you guys think?

Lawrence or Taurus...
that’s my vote…. I want the #5 and or #6 WR to be young guys with lots of potential and can play special teams… not a retread that doesn’t show up for games

Agreed
If it comes down to a vet or a rookie for 6th reciever, give it to the rookie. How important is a 6th reciever anyway.

Really? Because I see a bunch of old guys and a bunch of so-so young guys… and Bowe. I’ll take the days of Tony Gonzalez, Eddie Kennison, Johnnie Morton (all of who in 2004 had better seasons than Toomer and Engram, and only Morton failed to pass Lelie in receiving yards that season).

I don't count Gonzo even though I guess I should since he was like another WR.
I am strictly talking WRs though.

If you take Bowe and Gonzalez out of the equation
I’d still take Kennison/Morton over Engram/Lelie/Toomer…

I think it would be Darling? Darling is still running with the first team some how
He’s not just gonna get cut all of a sudden.
I really like Bowe, Bradley, Toomer, Engram, and Lelie..
Could do some damage..
Anyone remember being cautiously optimistic about Eddie Kennison?
