The Chiefs had their second practice of the day this afternoon.  Here are some general highlights:

• Larry Johnson didn't participate today
• The two new Chiefs weren't on the field for the afternoon practice
• Ryan Succop went 4/4 on FGs

Josh Looney and Bob Gretz are bringing us updates this afternoon.

General stuff

• It was about 80 degrees and 60% humidity (National Weather Service)
• The two new Chiefs weren't on the field for the afternoon practice
• Alleman will wear #60 and Ndukwe will wear #62
  

Offense

• In 7-on-7, Cassel, Thigpen and Gutierrez hooked up for touchdowns.  Cassel hit Bowe (Bob Gretz at CBS Sports)
• Mike Goff took snaps at center during the 7-on-7 drill work (Josh Looney at the Mothership)
• Mark Bradley had a nice grab down the left sideline covered close by Ricardo Colclough (Josh Looney at the Mothership)
• Tom Crabtree had a nice jump ball catch in red zone work  (Josh Looney at the Mothership)
• Devard Darling dropped a pass over the middle from Cassel (BobGretz.com)
• Cassel was short on a deep pass to Bowe (BobGretz.com)
• Tyler Thigpen got nearly all the second team reps (BobGretz.com)
• Red zone 7-on-7 TD passes: Cassel to Bowe, Thigpen to Bradley, Thigpen to Toomer and Gutierrez to Crabtree (BobGretz.com)
• Barry Richardson continued with the first team at RT (BobGretz.com)

Defense

• Blitzes were a situational point of emphasis (Josh Looney at the Mothership)
• Tyson Jackson again lined up with the first team at DE (BobGretz.com)

Special teams

• Ryan Succop was 4/4 on field goals today (Bob Gretz at CBS Sports)
• Field goal and kickoff coverage was the special teams emphasis (Josh Looney at the Mothership)
• Succop's attempts were mainly from shorter distances (Josh Looney at the Mothership)

Injuries

• Kolby Smith and Zach Thomas did not participate (Bob Gretz at CBS Sports)
• Larry Johnson did not participate.  Any injury doesn't look serious (Bob Gretz at CBS Sports)
• This is the first practice LJ has missed.  He took a hit during a goal line drill in the morning practice but it's unclear if that is related (Josh Looney at the Mothership)
