Kick and Punt returner

First off I just want to say I absolutely am addicted to this site.....This is also my first post and maybe far-fetched to think Pioli and Haley would bring him in.....But here goes :  THE HUMAN JOYSTICK...yes Dante Hall for anyone living in a cave....:)  is listed as one of the best free-agents still looking for a job...here is the link to the article ( I hope I do this right  http://profootball.scout.com/)   Anyway, it lists him as a good option for a #4 wide receiver as well as kick returner...

I, for one was very upset when he was traded...a casualty of Herm's "youth movement" Yes it seems like he struggled his last couple years, but that could have been a result of poor blocking on special teams....

He is only 30, has good hands and maybe, just maybe he could become close to the Dante of old....I think he is a good character guy too....(I've never heard any negatives about him)    So, what do you all think...Is there even a possibility of him coming "home" to KC???

GO Chiefs!!!!!!!

Welcome to AP!

Glad to have you aboard.

The problem I see with your proposal, is that players like Dante Hall have their success tied directly to their speed. And speed doesn’t get better with age.

If he was going downhill a few years ago….

Thanks for the welcome

Could be…….That’s why I wondered if it was more our crappy special teams his last year or his speed…

The trade to the Rams was great.....

….in the standpoint that we got his (overpaid) contract off the books and some value back to boot! Dante was done, well in Dante’s mind he wasn’t done but he clearly fell in love with the nickname and started acting like an idiot on the field. If you want to point a finger at a player loss on special teams, I point directly at Gary Stills. Special teams went down hill fast when we lost him.

Yeah

but he’d be real cheap now……

What did we get in return for Dante?

3rd and 5th round draft pick. Tank Tyler and Kolby Smith.

Pretty damn good trade if you ask me

And so, Craig finds himself leaping from blog to blog, striving to put right what once went wrong, and hoping each time that his next leap, will be the leap home.

Damn good!

And here’s the kicker….. These guys are young and have FUTURES. Dante, not so much. I agree that he would be cheap and maybe he is worth a try out but if he didn’t put his head down and run straight up the field then I would call him a cab because he didn’t learn his lesson the 1st time.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

Oh and Craig...

…thanks for the draft selection back up, I couldn’t remember what we got in return…… and I’m too lazy to look. :)

we only got a 5th round for him

plus they traded 3rd round spots. we went up 2 spots and they went down 2. And he may have lost a step but was still better the last two years than the returners we had.

Herm is gone things are better with that one move!!

Not for what he was getting paid...

….value has to be a factor here, he was better but not by much and not enough for what they paid him. Valuable cap space taken by an eroding better than average return man is not a good value, in my opinion.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

Deadhorse I know...

But for people who value special teams so much im surprised that pioli/haley havent brought someone in for this. cribbs is still n cleveland and still unhappy and would be worth a pick to bring him in and have a sure thing.

I don't know....

….I like Cribbs as a return guy but remember the buzz last year about the “special package” that was made just for him? Yeah me either. That’s my point, this guy is great on returns but he is a liability at any other position. Devin Hester light or Dante Hall young.

Leave the gun. Take the cannoli.

This is completely off the subject.

But, when the Bears took one of their most dangerous players, Devin Dester, and decided to make him a receiver and take away from him what he did best they were just plain stupid.

by Primussux on Aug 23, 2009 3:55 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think Cribbs is a special returner

He could instantly help our return game a lot. Teams never want to overpay for these guys though, but you get what you pay for.

We need to find someone that's something we all can agree on

I am interested in Legget and Savage tonight. I can’t remember Leggett returning and he has good hands. Ball Hawk!!!

I agree with others that our Nickel would be better served at CB not KR

but Haley and Pioli value roster spots so

See my new fanpost... Roscoe Parrish

He might be the odd man out in Buffalo and could probably be picked up for a late round pick.
