I posted this in the Day 11/Mid-Season Report Thread, but I figured no one would see it.
I know I’m super late in jumping into this discussion but I felt that I needed to say something. I’ve been crazy busy getting ready for school to start soon (last year :) ) I am completely open to any constructive criticism and if you have some feel free to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org I’m sorry that this discussion got so intense over one of my articles, but I must tell everyone how amazing it is to see the amount of support you guys have for my writing. I def. try to be different than any other type of journalist and stray away from the UWRF staff’s detailed reports. I like to give my perspective on issues and yes I know, sometimes it’s not always the professional thing to do. I try to think about what I like to read as a consumer of training camp articles and I try my best to put that into my reports. Yes, I do a lot of play by play and sometimes it gets too detailed. However, I add certain comments and viewpoints because it’s INTERESTING and not the same dull boring journalism that you can get from other sources. I don’t have a team of 6 people scattered around the field to catch every single movement or play. I am alone and therefore I try and take a different approach in reporting. I know I’m still learning, which is why I would love to hear the constructive criticism anyone has. Arrowhead Pride… you have some amazing members who back up a learning college student’s writing. I appreciate every single one of you and that includes you ravenhawk. I will try and check in more around here, even though today is the last day of training camp. Thanks everyone. :) :)
