Could be he's calling it like he sees it.
He’s seen a lot of camps and coaches in his years. I wouldn’t discount his observations/ opinions too quickly.

I do think it says something about our lack of talent at WR
And I do believe that Haley knows his receivers. I don’t doubt Bob’s opinion at all. I think he’s very intelligent and knows the Chiefs better than almost anyone.
What stuck out more than anything wasn’t what he said, it was the abrupt change of tone he’s taken lately. His attitude seems suddenly quite a bit different than it has been over the last few years I’ve been reading his stuff.
Update: Ok, I think I see what’s going on. I just looked and saw that he’s not listed for the columnists on the mothership any more. I don’t think he’s employed by the franchise in any way so now he can speak his mind quite a bit more (and maybe he’s a little miffed for losing his writing and broadcasting jobs).
