Yeah well

It’s supposed to be a cumulative effort right? Anyone still think we’re making the playoffs? Foundation foundation foundation. One game at a time.

Exactly.

I think each game is going to build on the previous. We’ll be a good team at the end, but right now? I think everyone is trying to figure out how to best appease the coaches and play their roles.

but it is the FIRST game….come on, this wasn’t a win or go home situation

Holy Shit!!!...Peterson resigned...Am I dead?...Is This Heaven?

to elaborate

we are implementing a 100% new defensive scheme, with players switching positions….and also a starting QB learning a new system, without his top receivers

Exactly.

Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE is still learning at this point.

As someone mentioned earlier....

Detroit was 4-0 in the preseason last year…
I won’t be so quick to wave the white flag.
You think the team peeled off the arrowhead of their helmets while in the locker room?

I bet they did peel off the A-heads....

and labelled themselves A-holes…

I want to see how Cassel does when he has Bowe to throw to.

Yeah, I ended a sentence with a preposition, ’cause this shit needs to be fixed!

Yea....I am not too into the title...

lol…

From what I have read, it wasn’t that bad of a showing for a new era…

We played fairly decent defense

Aginst a top 5 offense. I’m ok with that.

Offense wasn’t so great, but I’d imagine it could have been a lot different of Bowe was running with the 1st team. He made some nice catches tonight, and I believe no drops. Get that man running with the 1st-team and give Cassel a target to throw to.

+1

I’m looking forward to seeing Cassel throw to Bowe, Toomer and Engram… maybe when it’s not pouring down rain.

And, get LJ more than 4 carries.

And, open up the playbook a little

And Bradley

I thought he looked good. It’ll be nice to see Cassel throwing to the REAL starters. No worries.

I usually like Gretz's articles

But didn’t at all like his take on this game. Overall it was just an average first outing for this team, but not once did he mention how well Croyle played, and calls Colquitt the best player on the field. Colquitt is great, but Bowe played very well, Croyle looked great, if it weren’t for his past injuries I’d be excited. Our defense played above average I though, without bad turnovers they would of potentially held Houston to 10 points, and only allowing 6 points off those turnovers was great.

I just hate seeing all the negativity on this team from the people close to it. I’m used to it in the rest of the media that only see from the outside, and completely understand that perspective, but I expected more from Gretz.

I don't know

what to think about Gretz. It almost seems like he’s a little bitter at the new administration. Like he doesn’t mind seeing them fail since he was so close to Carl. It seemed like he always used to pick out the positives while being objective, but now it’s like he’s just piling on the criticism.

This is my take

of the first Pre Season game. We have not and most likely will not see the true Chiefs team until the last pre season game. I am not going to spew a bunch of fluff forward nor am I going to be filling the air with great negative thoughts about them. I am only trying to put forth a level headed conversation about them and what I have seen thus far.

I will repeat what I said above. The Chiefs team that was fielded against the Texans was not the team that will appear at the start of the regular season.

I have already seen reports about Cassel being “rusty” and that he did poorly. This is extremely false reporting about him. I’m not going to rehash the game here. I’m sorry if you didn’t get to see it, if you watched it you’ll already know what really happened out there. It seems there are others that didn’t watch the same game that I did and casting a dark cloud over them after only one pre season game is simply not fair and balanced reporting.

Yeah, let's just keep matriculatin' the ball down the field, boys! ...

If it's any consolation...

Oakland was the only AFC West team that WON their pre-season game this week. If that tells you anything…

Not really impressed with Gretz's take

Was he expecting us to look stellar? We have a lot of work to do but I saw quite a few positives out there last night. Houston has a good defense and our offense has not come together yet. I did see some decent running plays just not consistent. The third down conversions and turnovers have to improve along with penalties reduced.

But defensively I thought it looked like this team will be much more aggressive than they ever were last year. That was also a good offense they were playing against. People are picking the Texans to make the playoffs this year for a reason. If our D can continue to hold teams to a 2-12 third down conversion and get 2 sacks a game along with numerous pressures, we have a shot.

It was about what I expected for a first game, and this week against Minn isn’t going to be a lot different. Still a lot of work to do but I think they are at least pointed in the right direction.

Chiefs go 9-7. LJ makes 1400 yards. DBowe makes 1200 yards. Defense #18.
