"So far during camp I feel like I’ve been really consistent. I’ve made 90 some percent of my field goals during team," he said. "As a kicker you definitely have to be mentally strong. I mean you can’t let anything bother you, you just got to be tough mentally. You know whether it’s windy conditions or rainy, it doesn’t matter you just have to go out there and just know you’re going to make the kick."

After draining all 4 FGs today, Succop was punting on field two. One went 45 yards and the other 40…yes I said punting. So if Colquitt goes does we have an emergency option.

I think that is one reason why he was kept over Barth.

I was thinking punting was the 3rd reason he was kept over Barth after kickoffs and FG range
He handled both kicking and punting duties for 3 years in college I think. As someone mentioned in another post his punting experience and strong leg on FGs will be beneficial. Special teams and field position is very important to Haley.
2009-10 Predictions:
1. Chiefs will win ATLEAST 6 games, which is a big improvement over 6 wins in 2 seasons
2. Succop will bring stability to the K position for the first time in years
3. Chiefs D will atleast double the number of sacks form last season
4. Cassel will be a top 15 QB
5. Todd Haley won't make a poster and jump around holding it up welcoming the Chiefs players to summer camp, I mean TRAINING camp

No kidding, I don't think any other team has had as much trouble as the Chiefs
