Hunters need guns. Law enforcement needs guns. Why would a 36-year old former NFL quarterback, a husband and father of four need a gun that wasn’t for hunting? Why would a 20-year old waitress at Dave & Buster’s need a gun? Both McNair and his girl friend were owners of hand guns. One of them was used to take both lives, apparently her’s.

Gretz's write up today is more appropriate when applied to Burress. The fact that McNair owned a gun seems irrelevant.

I Should Say
that it is Bob’s Blog and he is entitled to say whatever he wants to say. I don’t mind the fact that his position is not politically neutral.
Consistency is only a value if you are not a screw up.

Ah, the gun control argument.
People like Gretz like to put the blame on a device used for killing and/or intimidation. How stupid. People will kill with whatever means possible if that is truly their intention. We can take all of the guns out of the hands of American citizens and it still won’t solve any problems. Why? Because there is only one country that has stricter gun-control policy AND a lower gun-related crime rate than America; Canada. There are plenty of other countries, mostly European, that have similar if not stricter policies in place and there crime rates are on par if not worse than ours. Crime breeds from poverty, drug trafficking, gang activity etc. In McNair’s case, he was sleeping around with a 20 year old woman and hanging with a bad crowd. That’s where you put the blame. When you eliminate THOSE factors, none of this would have happened. Never before have I heard the testimony from a defendent in a gun related murder case say their motive was based on the fact that there was a gun just sitting there. Eliminate the problem from it’s source; the violence prone culture these players associate themselves with. Get a clue, Gretz.
