Happy 4th of July from Arrowhead Pride
via zlek131
Phone rings...
Primetime: Hello?
Chris: Man, this place doesn't even have wireless internet! Can you wish everyone a Happy 4th on the site?
Ah, such is life in small town North Carolina. Chris is with Ms. AP's family and I'll be heading out to Ms. Primetime's family function in Pomona, KS. Fireworks, BBQ and beer (and Ms. Primetime is driving!)...I'm excited.
Happy 4th of July to everyone. Thanks to everyone for reading, commenting and posting (especially NJChiefsFan and GenericBrand for tearing it up in the FanShots recently) as we get through the dead zone of the NFL season.
After the jump are some good links to get you going today as we continue to wait the final 36 days to Canton...
USA Junior National team is far and away the best in the country:
The United States' dominance in the 2009 IFAF Junior World Championship continued Wednesday as Team USA followed up their 78-0 victory over France by defeating Mexico 55-0 in the second round of the inaugural tournament before a crowd of 11,218 fans at Fawcett Stadium.
Next up is Canada in the gold medal game on Sunday.

Jeff Garcia on the Raiders QB position (via PFT via GenericBrand in the FanShots)
"Not knocking JaMarcus or anybody else on the team, but I just have a belief in my own abilities. [That has] me feeling I am the best quarterback on the team. That's just how I approach the game."
***
Adam Schefter says Willie McGinest would be a "nice signing" for the Jets.
***
One overrated and underrated player from every team in the NFL courtesy of Pete Prisco of CBS Sports. Here's the Chiefs entry:
Overrated: RB Larry Johnson. He isn't close to being what he was a few years back. Elite? Not anymore.
Underrated: WR Dwayne Bowe. He is a big, fluid receiver who would be a marquee name anywhere else. He makes it look easy when he runs.

Today is Al Davis' birthday. Drop suggestions for his birthday party in the comments.

What game is that flyover from???
They did it last year at the New Orleans game that I went to and I was wondering if it’s the same one. It looks like the stadium is quite a bit more full on the video.
Happy fourth to everyone. If there is one football team that defines the US, I think it is the Chiefs. Old school hardnosed, tough, football team with fans who truly represent the family values of the United States.

Happy 4th to everyone!
Party it up for me – I’m just hanging out here until I go to work in a few hours.

Lake Pomona
Wow, I used to boat all the time there as a kid. Is that place as magically redneck as my imagination remembers it to be?

Yes
Yes it is. I say that because Ms. Primetime is very unlikely to read this by the time she gets to her desk on Monday morning.

Pomona, good times, good times.
Remember getting wrapped up in a tent during a big storm, fun stuff!
Now hopefully this team is fun to watch again! Thanks Scott, Clark!!
