The only player missing on the trip was DE Tyson Jackson as negotiations continued with the No. 1 draft choice.
"I’m just going to worry about the guys that are here," Haley said of Jackson. "It’s football season, so we are looking for football players."

Love it
Especially quarterback Matt Cassel.
"He was in this week running a bunch of guys through routes on his own," said Haley. "I looked out the window and there he was; he was directing traffic. I think he’s done everything he can do to this point to give him a chance to succeed."
This is what you want to hear about the new franchise QB, and the new head coach…
enthusiasm and going the extra mile.

I'm just glad that Matt Cassel didn't show up to camp...
looking like JaMarcus Russel. Matt Cassel could also get his top receivers there early to get timing down. Things are looking good.

Smith's deal
It’s a five-year contract that can max out at just under $62 million if certain incentives are reached, according to league sources. The deal includes $33 million in guaranteed money.
