Orlando acquired UFL rights to Vick in an allocation draft of players not under contract in the NFL.

Orlando franchise secured the rights to Vick IF he goes to the UFL - ESPN

Since Vick is back in the news, I figured it was worth reminding you what a Chiefs spokesperson said about him a while back: "The Chiefs have no comment regarding Michael Vick. They haven't given any thought to it. They don't want to be involved in any conversation about Michael Vick."

Sad

First of all, what Michael Vick did was reprehensible. He is a role model to thousands of kids, they all looked up to him, and he let them down in a big way. He did, and should have, paid for his crimes though. From his press conferences before going to jail, I saw remorse, I saw a man owning up to what he had done, I saw someone who could still be a role model.

How many NFL players (or NBA or MLB for that matter) step up and own their actions? How many times do we hear “the truth will come out”, or “this will be settled in court” or “If the glove don’t fit you must acquit!”? Not often. Even once they are caught, there seems to be a major lack of any kind of remorse from the majority of these hooligans, but in my mind Vick was different. He served his time, paid his debt to society, what more can you ask of him? With people like Donte Stallworth getting off pretty much scot-free after killing a human being, and even former Chief’s players seem to be getting slaps on the wrist with limp noodles for far worse offenses than what Michael Vick did.

I wish the man all the best, and maybe it’s because I am stupid but it seems the NFL in general stinks of rank hypocrisy lately, though it is getting better. Just my 2 cents.

sadly I wrote that whole post

Just to type the word “hooligans”. It makes me laugh!
