There may be some BBQing going on there...via Flickr.com

Thankfully, our Kansas City boys will be able to eat Kansas City food while at training camp.

We just received a press release from the good people at Zarda BBQ and boy do they know how to get me to post something on Arrowhead Pride:

As it turns out, Zarda BBQ is heading to River Falls, WI, for the twentieth (and final of course) year. They will be feeding lunch to the media on August 6th and dinner to the Chiefs players later that night.

Zarda C.O.O., Terry Hyer, comments,

"We started dinner for the Chiefs when training camp was held at William Jewel College. At the team’s request, we took the tradition on the road to River Falls. Have smoker, will travel… we’ll miss the River Falls camp experience, but look forward to continuing the tradition next year in St. Joseph, Missouri."

Click through to see what Zarda has cooking for the Kansas City Chiefs that night. I'm going #$%&*#@ crazy here (at lunch time no less) in Austin reading this list.

  • 60 slabs of Ribs
  • 30 pounds of smoked beef brisket
  • 30 pounds of Turkey
  • 30 pounds of Ham
  • 100 Chicken Breasts
  • 70 pounds of Burnt Ends
  • 80 pounds of Zarda’s KC Classic Beans
  • 10 pounds of dry-rub Pulled Pork
  • 10 Gallons of Original Zarda Sauce
  • 12 cases Assorted Zarda Sauces
  • 50 pounds of Potato Salad
  • 40 pounds of Cole Slaw
  • 50 pounds of Cheezy Corn

Yes, please on those burnt ends. They're my favorite BBQ dish.  And I could eat at least a pound of the Cheezy Corn. Hell, might as well go ahead and be the Scrooge McDuck of BBQ - give it all to me!

(Sigh) Do they deliver same-day 750 miles away you think?

If you're local to KC, check out these Zarda locations:

And for a conversation starter, which Chief could eat the most BBQ? I'm going Tank Tyler, easily.
